Destiny 2 Ammo and Exotic Weapon Sandbox Changes

The Monument of Triumph update for Destiny 2 is the last. As a result, there is a whole host of sandbox changes coming on June 9th. We have a couple of articles covering all the new sandbox changes. In this article, we will cover the changes coming to the Ammo system and Exotic Weapons. Also, a reminder, all Exotic Weapons will get a catalyst if they do not have one.

Destiny 2: Ammo System Changes

General Changes

  • Enemies killed above a pit will no longer spawn an ammo brick
  • Will still grant ammo meter progress

Special Ammo Weapons

  • Reduced the amount of meter progress Special ammo weapons gain from defeats against minor enemies by 17% at 100 Ammo Gen stat.

Linear Fusion Rifles

  • Heavy Ammo Precision LFRs
    • Base ammo gained increased from three to five.
    • Enhanced ammo gained increased from four to six
  • Special Ammo Precision LFRs
    • Base ammo gained increased from three to five
    • Enhanced ammo gained increased from six to ten

Buried Bloodline

  • Fixed a bug that caused Buried Bloodline to gain the correct ammo from an Enhanced ammo brick

Choir of One

  • Base ammo gained reduced from 45 to 35
  • Enhanced ammo gained reduced from 90 to 70

Rocket Pulse Rifles

  • Fixed a bug that caused Rocket Pulses to earn two shots per base brick
  • Fixed a bug that caused Psi Aeterna to not gain ammo per brick with Scavenger mods equipped
  • Fixed a bug that caused Legendary Rocket Pulses not to split their ammo brick correctly if paired with a second special weapon

Crucible Only

  • Reduced points gains from Special ammo, heavy ammo, and super kills by 33%
  • Reduced Glaive melee gains by 20%
  • Reduced Adaptive Burst LFR ammo gained from crates from five to three
  • Increased Rapid Fire LMG max ammo from 45 to 62
    • Other LMGs stay at 22
    • Reduced Bitter End’s ammo gained to fit the scale.

Destiny 2: Exotic Weapon Changes

Jade Rabbit

  • Magazine size increased from 10 to 15
  • Shoot to Loot and Firefly replace Zen Moment
  • Fate of All Fools
    • Max stacks increased to a cap of 15
    • Precision kills now add a stack
    • Gaining a stack refills the magazine and increases stability
    • Reloading does not fully remove stacks.
    • Dealing direct body shot damage removes one stack
    • Scales the damage of Firefly
      • Dealing splash damage will not remove a stack
  • Catalyst
    • Special reloading will consume all stacks of Fate of All Fools
      • Grants a singular Micro Missile round, which deals bonus damage based on the stacks consumed

Vex Mythoclast

  • Timeless Mythoclast
    • A more potent version of Rewind Rounds while in full auto mode
  • Temportal Unlimiter
    • Precision kills with LFR shots trigger an ignition
    • Leaving LFR mode reloads the magazine.
    • Visual changes to show LF shots remaining
  • Calculated Balance
    • Sustained amage can also activate the catalyst
    • Added a HUD buff

Touch of Malice

  • increased final round bonus damage by 10%
  • Special Reload can be faster with reload speed buffs
  • Precision Instrument replaces Rapid Hit on the catalyst
  • Increased stability and reload speed with each stack of Charged with Blight

The Last Word

  • Increased MnK stability by 10%
  • Increased MnK hip fire aim assist by 10%

Mida Multi-Tool

  • Lowered the PvE combatant kill requirement per modification
    • From ten kills (15 with Macro-Tool) to seven kills (10 with Macro-Tool)
  • Improved radar resolution from the catalyst remains active for a few seconds after stowing.
    • You still need the Multi-Tool in your hands to activate the catalyst.

Heirloom

  • Increased charge rate by 20%
  • Increased the impact damage of charged shots by 20% in PvE only
  • Reduced extra heat generated by charged shots by 7%
  • Increased damage vs miniboss and champion targets by 20%
  • Increased damage against bosses by 10%
  • Incandescent added to the catalyst.

Tarrabah

  • Dealing damage to Scorched combatants grants increased Ravenous Beast progress by 33%
  • Kill grant 10% increased progress per kill

Anarchy

  • Increased armed trap lifetime by 50% (10 to 15 seconds)
  • Increased trap damage against combatants by 30%
  • Doubled trap detonation damage against combatants
  • Impromptu Ammunition replaces Moving Target

Divinity

  • Increased Penance damage by 20%
  • Reduced time to activate Penance from 4 to 3 seconds
  • Reduced shots to activate the cage from 14 to 10

Winterbite

  • Reduced projectile self-damage by 60%

Edge of Action, Concurrence, and Intent

  • Glaive projectiles grant double progress towards the special shot

Hierarchy of Needs

  • Seekers apply Scorch stacks
  • Added hidden tracking for seekers that guide them to targets hit by precision damage
  • Increased hip fire accuracy added to the catalyst

Sunshot and Graviton Lance

  • Explosion damage increased toward nearby enemies, but decreased against enemies further away

Outbreak Perfected

  • Reduced bonus damage at maximum stacks from 4.5x to 4.

Arbalest

  • Increased champion damage by 33%

Wardcliff Coil

  • Fixed a bug where Wardcliff Coil did not grant Bolt Charge if the player was too high off the ground
  • Mechanized Autoloader now works when stowing the weapon
  • Increased maximum ammo from five to eight

The Lament

  • Reverted the previous damage nerf by 70%
    • Returned most of the final combo hit damage and self-healing

Truth

  • Returns one ammo to reserves and buffs the next magazine when all rounds in a mag hit a target
    • Next mag gains increased fire rate, stability, tracking strength, and cluster bombs

Thunderlord

  • Reduced ammo refunded by lightning strike from seven to five

Whirling Ovation

  • Increased the amount of Anticipation gained per point of damage by ~11%

Prometheus Lens

  • Increased scorch stacked applied per trigger

Centrifuse

  • Increased the magazine refilled per trigger to 10% from 4%

Slayer’s Fang

  • Increased mag size by two
  • Increased reserve ammo by ten
  • Reloads itself while the buff is active

Xenophage

  • Increased reserve ammo by 10

Praxic Blade

  • Slightly increased time taken to get ammo refunded when blocking
  • Strongholds no longer allow for infinite blocking with Special ammo swords
  • Reduced ammo refunded by light attacks
