The Director will once again become the centerpiece for Destiny 2. All your activities will launch from the Director again. The former Portal nodes will assimilate with the Director screen. In addition, the Kepler and Lawless Frontier destinations appear as their own planets. The image above shows the updated Director.

Destiny 2: Updates to Destinations and Patrol

Every single pre-Edge of Fate destination will receive new loot with new perks and tiered weapons for non-craftable pools, along with a set bonus. Destinations with crafted weapons will receive additional perks per column (think Savathun’s Throne World, Neomuna, and the Pale Heart.

Most of the loot will drop from Public Events. The base completion grants Tier 3 rewards, with Heroic increasing the tier to 4. The drops will have a chance to upgrade to Tier 5. If a destination has a distortion, the tier increases by one. Events like the Blind Well, Altars of Sorrow, or Terminal Overload also grant tiered rewards.

The World Loot Pool, earned through Legendary Engrams, will also have a collection of tiered loot that spans the entirety of Destiny 2.

Trials of Osiris will run every weekend where there is no Iron Banner. There can be up to three maps a week for Trials of Osiris weekends. In addition, there will be a featured weapon pool, instead of a weekly drop. Featured 6v6 modes continue, along with small-team modes that rotate daily until Trials of Osiris weekends. Rumble will remain permanently available. The update reintroduces Heavy Metal, along with a new 4v4 Arena Collision that focuses on weapon combat.

Heavy Metal

Heavy Metal is becoming a permanent game mode. In addition to the Drake and Brig, players can utilize a Cabal Behemoth. Players will also get the chance to select which vehicle to use when queuing for a match. Other Heavy Metal changes

  • Reduced Score to 40 (was 50)

Destiny 2: Sparrow Racing League

The SRL returns in big and exciting ways. The game mode returns with a more modern touch. You can use Sparrows and Skimmers for SRL. Most of the fancy techs for both vehicles will not be usable in SRL. Rocket Boost and Trick boosts grant players additional speed during the race. The four original maps return, with the addition of the Quantum Circuit held in the realm of the Nine.

The Rewards

SRL will have its only weapon pool and armor set focused on speed in Destiny 2

  • Feather Weight Origin Trait
    • Final blows with weapons that have the Featherweight Origin Trait grant increased movement speed while equipped.
  • Revving Up 2-piece armor bonus
    • Fast movement builds up a charge that gradually increases your health regeneration speed. Once you are Fully Revved, sprinting grants Speed Booster.
  • Dielectric Draft 4-piece armor bonus
    • Sliding while Speed Booster is active jolts combatants in front of you.

Players can earn new and old Sparrows, Skimmers, armor ornaments, shaders, and much more.
