If you’ve been waiting for a reason to jump back into Far Far West, Evil Raptor may have just handed you one wrapped in a pumpkin and cursed by a necromancer. The long-awaited “Fear Fear West” update has officially arrived, bringing a mountain of Halloween-themed content, major gameplay overhauls, a brand-new map, a wild jetpack weapon and enough spooky nonsense to keep cowboys awake at night.
The Halloween Event Takes Center Stage in Far Far West

The biggest attraction is easily the limited-time Halloween event, which transforms every map into a haunted playground packed with new objectives, creepy encounters and exclusive rewards.
Players can now collect three unique event resources during missions:
- Feathers, earned by finding crow statues and shooting fleeing crows
- Pumpkins, earned by defeating the new Halloween Boss
- Skulls, obtained by hunting down haunted cemeteries and destroying flying skulls
These resources are then used at a cauldron in the lobby to perform rituals. Completing rituals rewards Haunted Candles, the event-exclusive currency used to unlock a variety of Halloween cosmetics.
Rewards include character skins such as Sawbones, Scarecrow and Pumpkin Jack, alongside a Ghost mount skin, themed titles and spooky emotes. Better yet, unlocked cosmetics remain permanently attached to your account. Any items left unearned after the event ends will eventually become purchasable with Gold, although at significantly higher prices.
Disturbance Makes Missions More Dangerous
One of the most impactful systems introduced in this update is Disturbance.
Designed to keep missions engaging as players become stronger, Disturbance gradually increases during gameplay through actions such as completing objectives, activating modifiers and defeating bosses.
As thresholds are reached, enemies receive permanent buffs for the remainder of the mission. At maximum Disturbance, enemies become substantially faster, bosses gain additional health and the dangerous Ragestorm modifier activates.
Thankfully, the developers aren’t trying to turn every mission into a soul-crushing nightmare. The system is intended to create extra tension and unpredictability rather than drastically increase difficulty.
Still, anyone who accidentally stacks Disturbance while chasing side objectives may quickly discover they’re now starring in their own horror movie.
Joker Rewards Get a Huge Quality-of-Life Upgrade
Far Far West’s Joker system has become one of the game’s defining mechanics, but as the Joker pool expanded, players found themselves collecting increasingly useless choices.
The solution is simple and smart.
Instead of automatically receiving a random Joker, players are now presented with two Jokers of the same rarity and get to choose which one they want. Collection is now instant, making the entire process faster while giving players greater control over builds.
It’s one of those changes that sounds small on paper but will likely have a huge impact across every run.
Meet the Dealmakers and New Modifier System
Modifiers have undergone a complete redesign.
Rather than being mandatory random challenges, modifiers are now entirely optional. Throughout a mission, players can locate Dealmakers who offer various challenges in exchange for experience and Uranium rewards.
The modifier list ranges from mildly inconvenient to completely ridiculous.
Want giant tornadoes roaming the map? There’s a modifier for that.
Random teleports every minute? Absolutely.
Unskippable ads through the “Internet 3.0” modifier? Evil, hilarious and somehow fitting.
Some modifiers increase challenge, while a rare “Jackpot” modifier actually doubles enemy Joker drop chances. Whether players embrace the chaos or avoid it entirely is now their choice.
Far Far West Gets a Jetpack
Yes, really.
The update introduces the Jetpack, a new secondary weapon that completely changes mobility.
Players can launch into the air, fly across the battlefield and divebomb enemies for devastating area damage. Several unique upgrades further modify its behavior, including options that leave elemental trails, increase fuel reserves or convert the dive attack into a hovering combat platform.
It’s exactly the sort of ridiculous addition that feels perfectly at home in Far Far West, a game that has never been particularly interested in realism.
New Redwood Map and Woodlands Content
The update also expands the game’s world with Redwood, a mysterious forest map filled with towering trees, hidden dangers and event activities.
Accompanying the new region is Lady Granny’s Woodlands questline, along with a fresh main objective centered around an enormous Buzzsaw capable of carving through enemy spawners.
Players can even take a break from monster hunting to participate in horse races near the cemetery.
Because apparently surviving ghost attacks wasn’t stressful enough.
Bosses Receive Major Reworks

Three major bosses have received substantial overhauls:
- Cryptic Saloon
- Cryptic Vulture
- Cryptic Necromancer
Each boss now follows more structured combat patterns, features redesigned attacks and scales more aggressively at higher difficulties.
The new abilities dramatically increase encounter variety, making boss fights feel more like proper climactic battles rather than oversized health bars waiting to be deleted by overpowered builds.
Nightmare difficulty players, meanwhile, should probably start updating their wills.
Performance Improvements, Fixes and Balance Changes
Outside of the flashy new content, “Fear Fear West” also delivers dozens of meaningful improvements.
The patch includes more than 50 bug fixes, improved enemy CPU performance, matchmaking improvements through Epic Online Services integration, controller enhancements, expanded rebinding options and fixes for several long-standing crashes.
Numerous weapons received buffs, including the Revolver, Bow, Banjo, Boomerang and Sheriff Stars. Several Jokers were rebalanced as well, keeping powerful build combinations in check while improving underused options.
There’s even a new jukebox in the lobby because every supernatural western deserves a proper soundtrack.
The result is an update that feels less like a seasonal event and more like a full-scale expansion. Between the Halloween festivities, major gameplay systems, boss overhauls, Redwood map, new modifiers and the wonderfully absurd Jetpack, Far Far West has delivered one of its most ambitious updates yet. For returning players and newcomers alike, the frontier has never looked stranger, or more entertaining.
As an added treat, Far Far West is currently available at a 20% discount for the next two weeks, making this one of the best times yet to saddle up and head into the frontier.
