The Shattered Throne Dungeon in Destiny 2

The June 9th update brings tiered loot to every raid and dungeon in Destiny 2. Each one will see their weapons get a loot refresh and an individual armor set. The armor sets come with their own set piece bonuses. Shattered Throne was the first dungeon added in Destiny 2. As a result, it is a relatively simple dungeon, but we have a guide for any new or returning players.

Shattered Throne: Labyrinth

When you load into the dungeon, you will see a door in front of you. Approach it opens the door. In front of you is a bunch of floating rocks. Jump across them until you reach the other side. Be careful as you cross. The entire dungeon is in the Taken Realm, significantly reducing your visibility.

Once you reach the other side, the encounter will start. There are no rally banners for this dungeon, so keep that in mind as you move through. Your first task is to kill all the Taken enemies. Once they are dead, the room in front of you will spawn a symbol. The symbol will lead you to the next group of enemies. The symbols’ positions are as follows:

  • Dragon breathing Fire – Left Tower
  • Circle Fish – Bottom Left
  • Infinity Snake – Top left
  • Double Snake – Middle Middle
  • Bird Looking Left – Top Right
  • Downwards Fish – Right

Kill each group of enemies, spawn a symbol, and repeat. Your last symbol will always be the bird diving downwards. That room is at the front of the encounter.

Shattered Throne: First Traversal Section

After getting your loot, drop down through the opening in front of you. Move forward slightly, turn right, and then right again before turning left. You will enter the Descent load zone. Jump off the platform onto the section below. There are a few ads in this area. Most of them are at long range, so having long-range capabilities will help. Climb the stairs, taking out the enemies as you go.

You are aiming to reach a platform with numerous Taken enemies and a slightly ajar door. Here you will find a large room with enemies scattered throughout. You have two options. Barrel down the middle and skip all the enemies, and kill them one by one. The second option is better if you do not feel confident. Once you reach the end, turn left and reach a room with multiple beams. Traversing this section is tricky. Numerous Taken Ogres and Taken Orbs spawn as you progress. We recommend that you take this section slowly. Kill every Ogre, and watch out for any Taken Orbs that spawn along the path.

At the end, you will enter the famous thrallway. Here, there are endless waves of thrall. If you need to farm ammo for the upcoming encounter, here is the best place to do it. You do need to keep in mind that your health does not regenerate naturally, nor can you double jump. Zigzag your way through until you reach the outside.

Head across until the path outside the rocky wall. Be careful as you navigate. There are Taken geysers that can send you flying. Find the group of Taken Phalanxes. Kill them and move towards the second encounter. Take it slow here; if you go too quickly, the encounter will soft-lock.

Shattered Throne: Keeper of Petitions

The Keeper is a Taken Ogre boss. His mechanics are simple. There are four Keeper Wizards in the arena. Kill all four and pick up each one’s mark. At four stacks, it turns into a Burden that you can dunk at one of the platforms near where the boss spawns. Dunking drops his shield, and you can damage him. If you do not kill him in one phase, repeat the process.

Shattered Throne: Second Traversal Section

Head through the open door, past the statue (important for the Wish-Ender quest). Head down over the rocky platforms until you reach the wizards. Kill them, or skip them and head up through the elevator. Most of this section is moving forward, killing Taken enemies, jumping across, and using elevators. You will eventually reach a second, mini thrallway. The spawns are endless again, and you can farm ammo.

After the area, you must jump across a few beams until you reach a wall with a small path. The path is tricky, with Hobgoblins and Taken Geysers along the way. You have two options: speed across or take it slowly. The choice is yours, but be careful. You have to take a couple more elevators until you reach the boss arena.

Shattered Throne: Dûl Incaru

Dûl Incaru is another easy boss to kill. The arena is small, so be prepared for quick combat. The enemies you will face are some Taken Psions and Three Boss Knights. Each boss is melee-only, but they pack a punch. The lower their health, the more aggressive they become. They will also become invulnerable at certain points before reappearing shortly after. Try to kill all three Knights at the same time.

Each Knight drops a Finite Thought Buff. Every stack grants additional damage to Dûl Incaru, but it is on a timer. If the timer runs out, you die. Either kill Dûl Incaru in time, or run to the center to cleanse your buff and shoot the crystal behind her. Repeat the process if she is not dead.
