LCK 2026 Round 3 Day 8 Recap: Gen.G Esports Back in Form With A Dominant Victory
Gen.G Esports gave their fans more confidence following another decisive LCK victory. They had a dominant 2-0 victory over KT Rolster in the opening game of the day. KT only got two kills throughout the series and will need to return to the drawing board. HANJIN BRION followed up that series with a 2-0 win for themselves. Game one looked fire until Loki earned a Pentakill on Locke. BRO moved to sole first place in the Rise Group with the win. They might maintain that spot should results go their way over the course of the weekend.
Gen.G Esports Sweep Aside KT Rolster
It seems like Gen.G’s downfall was greatly exaggerated. Not only did they beat KT Rolster 2-0, but they also did so in dominant fashion. KT’s first kill of the series came 8 minutes into the second game. The first game was a shutout with eleven kills for Gen.G. Cuzz dealt 1k damage on Vi, which tells you everything you need to know. Game two was a little closer, but Gen.G always had control from the laning phase. Ruler has stepped up significantly this week. He had a dominant performance, showing FenRir that he still has a lot to learn for the AD Carry role. Gen.G’s win moves them into second place, tied with T1 for series wins.

Roamer Pentakill Headlines the Series
BRO got out to an early lead to kick off the series. They then fell behind, and it looked like they would start the series down 1-0. Namgung, who was 0/8 at the time, found the perfect flank on Taeyoon. Roamer’s Purgatory ultimate landed on four members. The rest of BFX exploded in seconds, and he secured a pentakill to end the game. BFX never recovered from that loss, falling behind early again. Clear struggled to enter the game as GIDEON spent most of his time putting him behind. Namgung continued to push forward, but had fewer deaths thanks to the tankiness of Leona. HANJIN BRION moved to first place alone ahead of KRX, BFX, and Nongshim Redforce.

The Return of Gen.G
After missing out on playing at MSI, being knocked out of the Esports World Cup, and losing the first two LCK games, everyone thought Gen.G was done. Their downfall was greatly exaggerated. It was one of Gen.G’s most dominant performances this year.
Even at the start of the year, they were not winning games while preventing teams from getting kills. They usually had moments where they gave up kills, like Ruler dying in the mid-lane. However, this series was dominant, with KT only picking up two kills throughout. KT will need to go back to the drawing board after a disappointing performance when the hype was building. Gen.G could be tied for first place should T1 lose to Hanwha Life Esports tomorrow.
