Weekly Free Games on the Epic Games Store Aug 6 – 13, 2026
The Epic Games Store has a new trio of games available to claim for free. From August 6 through August 13, 2026, you can add them all to your game libraries, and they’re yours to keep. From cute to creepy to the underworld, there’s plenty here to explore. At least, if you’re a PC and Android gamer. Sorry, Mac users. Maybe next time. (iPhone gamers in the EU have access to the free mobile game as well.)

Beacon Pines
Beacon Pines is a gorgeously illustrated game where adorable anthropomorphic kids have a strange and creepy mystery to solve. I played this one myself, quite some time ago. It was engaging enough to play it all the way through! The characters are cute, and the story was interesting. The mystery was fun to uncover.
There’s an unusual mechanic that helps to move through the story and solve the mystery. As you explore, you collect charms with words on them like chill, ponder, or hide, for example. At certain points in the story, you’re given a choice of how to react or what to do. As you collect more charms, you can use The Chronicle to go back and try a different path in the story, find even more charms, and ultimately experience all of the options.

We Were Here Together
While I don’t have experience with We Were Here Together, it does sound like a fascinating puzzle game to play with a friend. Just make sure your friendship can stand up to it!
You and your friend are Antarctic explorers, and everyone else has left the base camp to explore. A distress flare alerts you to trouble, and it’s up to the two of you to investigate. You find a medieval castle where you become separated, and you can only communicate through your walkie-talkies. You’ll have to communicate to solve puzzles together while working out the history of the place and the mystery of “The Jester.”
Note that the game is co-op only, so get your friends to claim the game from the Epic Games Store now too! You’ll both need microphones and active internet connections as well.

A Guidebook of Babel
From the Epic Games Store on mobile, you can claim A Guidebook of Babel. The game will also be coming to PC from the Epic Games Store in the future.
The game takes place on a cruise ship full of travelers who need help to complete their last wishes and get free of their trouble. To do it, you rewrite the past using a special pen. You’ll also make use of time travel to uncover their histories. The “butterfly effect” plays a part in the game as you solve puzzles to help the others on the ship.

How to Claim Freebies From the Epic Games Store
Whether you want to play on your PC, Mac, Android, or iOS device (iOS is available only in the EU), you can find the download information on the Epic Games Store website. If you’re on a computer, you can download the Epic Games Launcher to access and play your games. I know that’s not exactly shocking, and you probably figured that out already.
For the mobile games, you’ll need the QR code. Use the camera on your mobile device to scan the QR code, which will direct you to the download page. You will have to enable downloads from other sources. (Other than the native app store, that is.) This app isn’t available on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. After installing the app, launch it, sign in, and then scroll down to find the current free game.
