Alongside the PS5 launch, a free content update is coming to all players on every platform in 2027, timed to the PS5 release and the expansion drop. What that update contains has not been specified.
Why It Matters: Background On Forza Horizon 6
Forza Horizon 6 has sold more than 7.4 million copies and generated an estimated $534.3 million in revenue on Xbox and PC before the PlayStation release. For comparison, Forza Horizon 5 sold over five million copies on PS5 alone when it arrived on the platform in 2025, suggesting a sizable built-in audience is waiting on the sequel.
The game has also drawn strong reviews on its existing platforms. IGN gave the game a 10/10, calling it “unequivocally the best” in the series and “a goddamn masterpiece.” That reception gives PlayStation players a clear sense of what they are waiting an extra several months to play.
