Triple-I Initiative October Showcase 2026 delivered a pile of game announcements that nobody asked for and everybody needed. The Triple-I Initiative has once again proven that independent developers are the only people still having fun in this industry. Did anyone honestly expect a game where you play as a mouse with a tiny sword and also a game about shot-glass Russian roulette with a demon girlfriend?
Triple-I Initiative Brings The Weird Stuff
The Triple-I Initiative showcase opened with Aftergods, a top-down survival game where Ragnarok happened and now survivors are building a new pantheon. The trailer comes from the same animation team behind Blood of Zeus and Castlevania, which means it will look gorgeous and probably emotionally devastate you. My bias for this entire article is simple: I care about games that feel like someone’s fever dream, not another military shooter with a battle pass. Triple-I Initiative knows its audience wants the strange stuff.
Waltz And Jam Does Hand-Drawn Things
Flyway Games out of Korea is making Waltz and Jam, a hand-drawn action-adventure that lands December 3 on PC, Switch 2, and PS5. Every frame apparently takes a billion years to draw, and I respect that level of commitment to carpal tunnel.
Among Us Story: On Guard is a standalone narrative detective game coming February 17, 2027. You have to prove your innocence before the Impostor gets the crew. It sounds like Ace Attorney met a spaceship and they had a paranoid baby. Triple-I Initiative keeps finding these oddball premises.
Astral Ascent Gets A Crossover Nobody Predicted
Astral Ascent just dropped a free update called Expedition 33 For Those Who Come After, which adds Clair Obscur Expedition 33 flavor plus new summons, bosses, and a huggable Esquie. I do not know what a huggable Esquie is, but I want to hug it immediately.
Brotato: Primal Dread arrives November 2 for PC with bigger enemies, new brotatoes, and weaponized panflutes. Weaponized panflutes. That is the kind of specific nonsense that makes me love this industry. Triple-I Initiative understands that a panflute can be a deadly weapon if you believe hard enough.
Canyons And Chained Together Bring Friends
Canyons is a new co-op PvE shooter from the creators of Breathedge, set in a brutal, ever-changing world with supernatural creatures called the Awakened. You use Blood Pacts for exotic abilities and establish a settlement, which sounds like every survival game but with more tentacles. It launches in November 2027 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Chained Together gets its first new map on November 12, plus a mode testing how quickly teams overcome trials. That game is already a friendship destroyer, and now it has more ways to ruin your group chat. Triple-I Initiative loves co-op chaos.
Dandelion Void And Dave The Diver Do Crossovers
Dandelion Void has you surviving hostile jungle-choked halls of a derelict spaceship while establishing a refuge to keep horrors at bay. A demo is available ahead of Steam Early Access next year. Dave the Diver is crossing over with Subnautica 2 in early 2027, bringing that wet alien world into an already bizarre fishing game. I played Dave the Diver for forty hours, and I still do not know what genre it is. Triple-I Initiative just lets developers cook whatever cursed meal they want.
Drunken Goddess And False Echo Get Specific
Drunken Goddess Reflux comes from the developers of Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis, which is a real game title that exists. You play shot-glass Russian roulette against Femme Soule, a demon who loves you to death. False Echo blends submarine warfare and cryptography like Papers, Please met Das Boot. It comes to PC in Spring 2027 with a demo available now.
Gods with Badges is a turn-based tactics game from Strange Scaffold where you play a disgraced cop named Harrow McClellan, and you can turn off your body-cam for special dialogue options. That is a genuinely clever mechanic. Triple-I Initiative lets games have opinions.
Haunted Paws And Hela For The Soft Hearts
Haunted Paws lets two adorable dogs adventure through a haunted mansion to find their missing owner, coming to every platform known to humanity. A PC demo is on Steam right now. Hela: of Mice & Magic features a brave little mouse inspired by Northern Sweden and launches December 1 on everything, including Game Pass.
I am biased toward games where small animals wield weapons. Risk of Rain 2: Hallowed Concepts is the fourth DLC and adds new regions, enemies, and bosses in the cult-like world of N’Kuhana. It is out now. Triple-I Initiative knows some of us just want to be a mouse with a sword.
Prison Hijinks And Talking Policemen

The Escapists 3 is coming in 2027 with more 3D prison hijinks from Team17. Machinarium 2 exists almost twenty years after the original and has no release date. Lazare’s Sacrifice is a narrative deckbuilder designed with Damien Monnier, the original Gwent designer, set during the French Revolution. The Talos Principle 3 is the final entry from Croteam.
Militsioner is a talking sim first revealed in 2020 where a Godzilla-sized policeman follows you, and you must skip town while being watched. Pony Island 2 is the next game from Inscryption creator Daniel Mullins, with a public playtest coming soon. Stronghold 4 returns December 7 with a siegecraft focus. Triple-I Initiative gave us all of this in one show.
Windrose And Vaultbreakers Keep Going
Windrose: Ashlands Update adds a new biome, quests, armor, weapons, challenges, and a boss for winter season. Vaultbreakers is a top-down extraction RPG with a demo available now where you clear a path to the Dragonvault. Too Deep To Quit is a co-op survival game described as Indiana Jones with puppets and has a new trailer plus a Steam demo.
Volatiles is a top-down action roguelike from Team Instant Defeat where you fight alien hordes and sinister forces manipulate your mind. Revamp is a Tower Defensevania from the Moonlighter creators launching March 25, 2027 on Steam. Triple-I Initiative found games with names that sound made up but are not.
Jiaohun And Outward 2 Get Spooky
Jiaohun is a first-person psychological horror set in a small Chinese town during the 1990s, launching next year on PC and PS5. Outward 2 was listed with no additional details, which is the most chaotic way to announce a sequel.
Kingdom Two Crowns: Pharaoh Lands is an Egypt-inspired expansion with new lands and monuments under a scorching sun. Living Hell is a co-op survival horror from the Devour creator where you capture mutated specimens and turn them into biofuel for a train escaping a doomed planet. That sentence is real. Triple-I Initiative does not do normal.
RockBeasts And Little Prince Tyger Rock Hard
RockBeasts is a rock-and-roll management RPG launching January 2027. Prospice: Anomalous Logistics has you exploring an uncharted island with a truck while terrain is warped by decaying gods and you uncover occult artifacts. Little Prince Tyger is a bloody 2D action roguelike with over 1,000 single-screen levels and physics-simulated everything, described as a heavy metal version of Celeste.
Wyldheart is an action RPG from Wayfinder Studios, a twelve-person indie team in Sweden founded by a former Star Wars Battlefront creative director, with a Steam demo out now. Trainwatch is a psychological horror set in a fogbound railway crossing where you deal with occult forces as a gatekeeper. Isle Goblin has an open playtest live now where you play a lowly goblin fighting invading humans and rebuilding. Triple-I Initiative gave goblins a chance.
Sulfur And Final Thoughts On Triple-I Initiative
Sulfur is a roguelike first-person shooter leaving Steam Early Access with a 1.0 launch on October 28, also coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. My bias remains clear: Triple-I Initiative showcases are better than most big-budget events because they let a game about a mouse and a game about a demon girlfriend exist side by side.
The Triple-I Initiative October Showcase 2026 reminded me why I play games. Some of these will be terrible. Some will be brilliant. All of them are weirder than another sequel to a game you already bought twice. Triple-I Initiative wins again.
