Teamfight Tactics Set 17 Nasus Hero Augment Guide: Scaling Dog to Victory

Space Gods Set 17 for Teamfight Tactics

Set 17 of Teamfight Tactics has six hero augments as of patch 17.1. In patch 17.2, there will be three additional hero augments. One of the augments is for Nasus. He turns from a tank into an AD Fighter. Nasus scales with eliminations, making win streaks more important. With the set in full swing, we have a guide on the Nasus Hero Augment.

Nasus’s spell with the hero augment is his Q from League of Legends. If he secures an elimination with the spell, he scales the spell’s damage. His star level will also increase the damage scaling. If you hit an early two-star Nasus, that can help you go on a win streak. If you do not win fights early, at least have Nasus secure a couple of kills. Prioritize Nasus items to make him as strong as possible. Because all three units that you want to three-star are one-cost, you want to reroll at level 5.

Approaching the Augment

Early Game

  • Slam Items
    • Preferably Nasus BIS
  • Aim for a win streak
  • Play around Vanguard and Space Groove Units
    • Zoe is a good unit to add if you are playing around Arbiter for econ or HP stacking for Leona
  • Do not level early

Mid-Game

  • Slow Roll at level 5 for three-star Nasus, Leona, and Teemo
    • Nasus is the most important
    • Leona and Teemo are luxury
  • If you are behind on Teemos, focus on levels once Nasus is three-star
  • Add in additional Vanguards and Space Groove units
  • Transfer Teemo items to LeBlanc if he is not three-star

Late Game

  • Aim for a six Vanguard Board
  • If you do not find Blitzcrank play flexible
    • Either add in five Space Groove or flexible five-costs

The Final Board

Your endgame board should look like this:

  • Nasus
  • Leona
  • Teemo
  • Mordekaiser
  • Illaoi
  • LeBlanc
  • Nunu & Willump
  • Blitzcrank

If you reach higher levels, add in flexible five-costs or look for five Space Groove.

Nasus

Nasus’s BIS is Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Bloodthirster, and Titan’s Resolve. The Rageblade increases Nasus’s damage output and number of casts. Bloodthirster and Titan’s Resolve provide sustain and tankiness.

Teemo

Teemo needs Guinsoo’s Rageblade to be a competent carry. Hextech Gunblade is perfect for Teemo to keep his frontline alive. The third item is flexible, but you do not need Jeweled Gauntlet on him.

Leona

Ideally, have Sunfire Cape and Evenshroud on Leona. Neither Nasus nor Teemo is great with Burn or Sunder. That means Leona needs to have those items. Slam either Bramble Vest or Dragon’s Claw, depending on what you need. Other Tank items are weaker but playable.

Positioning Tips

Most importantly, do not position Nasus in front of the enemy’s main tank. You do not want him to get stuck on the tank, especially in the early game. Keep Teemo on the same side as Nasus if possible. Doing so will allow them to focus on one target at a time. If you have Burn and Sunder items on Leona, keep her Nasus to provide the auras.

Best Space Gods

Varus or Kayle are the best Space Gods for this composition. That will apply to all hero augments. Ahri is okay as well, if she gives you rerolls. Varus’s additional duplicators can guarantee you hit your units, and his boon increases your team strength. Kayle can ensure you get the items you want, and her boon provides combat power. In patch 17.2, Kayle’s boon changes to stats for every completed item.

Additional Tips

There are two types of Arbiters you are looking for. Ones that increase Leona’s durability, or grant additional rerolls. Prioritize durability over rerolls if you get both options. With encounters returning in patch 17.2, look out for specific ones to increase your composition’s strength. Starting with two-component anvils or getting guaranteed duplicators will improve your chances of winning. The Nasus augment is unlikely to give you a first place, unless you hit everything. However, a well-played board should give you a top-four unless others outcap you.
