Teamfight Tactics Set 17 Anima Guide: Successfully Collecting and Converting Tech
Anima is the risk trait for Set 17 of Teamfight Tactics. It functions similarly to Chem Baron from Set 13. There are two significant differences. You can place the Anima items on any unit; they do not need to have the Anima trait. The other difference is how you gain stacks. Chem Baron gained additional shimmer if you had more Chem Baron units. Anima gains additional tech through loss streaks.
Teamfight Tactics: Anima Units

Anima has five units in Set 17. There are only two breakpoints for the trait. The first breakpoint is at three units. Once activated, Anima will gather tech through losing combats and killing units. Every successive loss increases the tech gained. You can only hit six Anima with an emblem. Six Anima grants random loot after combat.
