Destiny 2 Vow of the Disciple 2026 Raid Guide
The June 9th update brings tiered loot to every raid and dungeon in Destiny 2. Each one will see their weapons get a loot refresh and an individual armor set. The armor sets come with their own set piece bonuses. Vow of the Disciple saw players take on a Disciple of the Witness for the first time. We took Rhulk down because of his hubris.
Vow of the Disciple: The Boat
When you load into the raid, you will see Hive enemies and a Reflection of Savathun. Killing the Reflection despawns the enemies, and the door will open. Hop on your Sparrow and race through the path. Eventually, you will reach a Pyramid boat. Scorn enemies spawn, including three Abominations. After you kill all three, the orange pyramid resonance spawns. Pick up all the resonance and deposit it at the boat. One player can only hold three resonances at a time.
- Heightened Knowledge = 1 resonance
- Brimming Knowledge = 2 resonance
- Overflowing Knowledge = 3 resonance
Every time you leave the boat while the Abominations are alive, you gain stacks of Pervading Darkness. Each stack darkens your screen. At ten stacks, you die. Every time you deposit nine resonance, the boat will move. The boat will make five stops before it reaches the end. Once the boat parks, the door opens. Head through the door into a large room. Drop down the hole on the right, and proceed forward outside. Run down the stairs and turn left into a room of symbols. You can use the room to learn all of the symbols of the raid. Otherwise, run forward and then turn right into the first encounter room.
Vow of the Disciple: Acquisition

The first encounter sees your team split up into two roles:
- Role 1 – Obelisk Defenders
- Role 2 – Runners
Assign one player per role to each totem. At the obelisks, there is a pillar. Each pillar has three sections. The top section will have either a Traveler or Pyramid symbol. The second section will have a symbol from one of the doors. The final section will either have a light or a dark symbol. In the middle of the room is a Crux. Shooting the Crux starts the encounter. It will also open and close doors. The obelisk defenders should focus on clearing the enemies and reading the pillar. Unstoppable Champions will spawn throughout the encounter at each obelisk.
How the Encounter Works
After a brief duration, one of the three pillars’ top symbols will display. The symbol indicates which side a Taken Knight will spawn. There are three places on each side where a Knight will spawn. The runners should keep an eye out for the Knights.
- Traveler = Right Side
- Pyramid = Left Side
After the Knight dies, a new symbol appears in the middle part of the pillar. That symbol will indicate which room you need to go to. Have the runner assigned to that pillar run into the room. Once they reach the room, two Chieftains spawn. The last pillar symbol will appear, either light or dark. Call that out for the player.
Kill the Chieftain corresponding to the color called out. After you kill the Chieftain, a symbol will spawn. Write the symbol in chat. Killing the Chieftan also clears the obelisk and resets the wipe timer. After you clear the three rooms and have three symbols, look at the obelisks. Find the obelisk that has the three symbols. Shoot all three symbols at the same time. If done successfully, you have completed the first portion of the encounter. Repeat two more times to complete the encounter. Every time you complete an obelisk, it will not be the one you need to shoot for future rotations.
Vow of the Disciple: The Caretaker
After completing the encounter, a door opens at the back of the room. Run through and turn left at the open door. Run through to the other side, and you will see a door on the right. Take the door to reach the Caretaker. Run up the two flights of stairs to the rally banner. Split into three teams of two.
- Team 1 – Runners
- Team 2 – Stun Team
- Team 3 – Ad Clear
Runner’s Job
Starting the encounter requires you to shoot the Crux. Doing so opens the door to another room. Inside the room are nine resonances, each with its own symbol. Much like the opening, players can only pick up three resonances at a time. Remember each symbol when you pick it up. Keep in mind, while in the room, you gain stacks of Pervading Darkness. You can only stay in the room for a short duration. Have the second runner shoot the Crux once the first player is ready to leave.
The first runner must now find the three symbols on the obelisk. Shoot them in quick succession. If you fail, you will need to pick up the symbols again. Every fail fills up the symbol. After shooting all three symbols, the damage phase starts.
The Stun Team
While the running team does their job, the stun team must do theirs. The Caretaker will spawn and start walking to the obelisk. One player from the stun team stands near the boss. He will get angry, and his face glows. Shoot his face to open the back. Shoot his back, and that will stun the boss. Continue to stun him until the running team has shot all their symbols.
The Damage Phase
After shooting symbols, get ready for damage. There are three plates of damage. Damage will always start on the side that the Caretaker walks up. Have everyone stand on the plate at the same time to deal damage. After each floor, stairs spawn, leading to the next floor. Repeat for every floor until you reach the Final Stand. Final Stand takes place on the last floor. There are three damage plates. Kill the boss to complete the encounter.
Vow of the Disciple: First Traversal Section
Jump up the platforms and turn to your right. The section has plenty of platforms that you have to jump up. You will find yourself turning around often. Have one player wait by the Crux. Shooting the Crux will move platforms. If you have one player confident enough to jump without needing extra platforms, they can run forward. Otherwise, call the Crux player to shoot. Once you reach each section, the platforms will stabilize. Shooting the Crux in the last section causes platforms to rotate left and right. Run across the platforms and have a player shoot the Crux to swap the platform directions. Have everyone meet at the door.
Vow of the Disciple: Exhibition
Run through the door and navigate to the third encounter. There are three roles in this encounter.
- The laser
- Breaks shielded Taken Knights to extend time
- The Aegis Relic
- Holding block cleanses Pervading Darkness
- The Eye of Riven
- Cleanses Taken Orbs
The first room will only have the laser. In this room, there are two Glyphkeepers. One Taken and one Scorn. Non-relic holders can read the symbols that drop from the Scorn Glyphkeeper. You will need a relic to read the Taken Glyphkeeper Symbols. Find the symbol in common and shoot that one by the door. Shooting the right one opens the door. Shooting the wrong one decreases your timer.
Deposit the laser. Have another player pick up the laser. The Aegis Relic will also spawn. A player should pick that up as well. In the next room, there are two sets of Glyphkeepers. Run through the room, but make sure you go near the Aegis player while he blocks for a cleanse. The laser player should also kill the Knight to extend time. You will need to shoot two symbols to open the door.
Deposit the relics, and the Eye of Riven also spawns. Do the same in the third room, but this time, have the Eye of Riven player use their grenade key on the Taken blights. Kill all the Glyphkeepers and shoot the symbols. The fourth room has no new relics. Complete the room and deposit the relics to complete the encounter.
Vow of the Disciple: Second Traversal Section
Run through the open door until you reach the stairs. Head up the stairs and jump up the platforms. Run to the doors together to open them. Head to Rhulk’s platform. Run up to Rhulk to trigger the encounter start.
Vow of the Disciple: Rhulk, the Disciple of the Witness

The Rhulk encounter sees another three roles for the main section of mechanics. There is also a barrier that prevents players from passing through. You will need one of the Force buffs to pass through the barrier.
- Two Splitters
- Two Dunkers
- One Reader
When the encounter starts, a large crystal spawns. Have one of the splitters shoot the crystal to gain Leeching Force. That person with Leeching Force must stand on the plate with the Give symbol. While standing on the plate, two crystals spawn on the right and left sides of the boss. Splitters always shoot right crystal, while dunkers shoot the left crystal. After shooting both crystals, the initial splitter loses Leeching Force, and the other two get it. Have the second splitter stand on the plate. The first splitter and second dunker must shoot the crystals.
Both dunkers must stand in Rhulk’s beam attack to get Emanating Force. Standing in Rhulk’s beam without Leeching Force damages you and gives you stacks of Pervading Darkness. While this is happening, you must kill Glyphkeepers. Only players with Leeching Force can read the Taken symbols. Find the matching symbol. The reader will need to look at the panels in front of them. Find the two panels that have the matching symbol. You can label the panels L1-L3 and R1-R3. Once the two dunkers have Emanating Force, have them deposit at the panels. Repeat this process three times. Each set of deposits pushes the barrier forward.
Pre-Damage Phase
After the six deposits, Rhulk drops the barrier. Meet him on the damage platform. Before damage starts, we will have one more mechanic to do. Rhulk will drop his glaive. The player who lands the final blow on the glaive gets Leeching Force. Shooting the glaive spawns a symbol. It will be one of:
- Traveler = Front Left
- Light = Front Right
- Pyramid = Back Left
- Dark = Back Right
The Leeching Force player stands in the beam to get Emanating Force. Deposit the symbol based on the callout from your team. Each deposit spawns a weak spot on Rhulk. Deposit four times, and break four weak spots to start the damage phase. During damage, Rhulk will kick players and do his beam attack. Dodge his attacks and deal damage. If you do not reach Final Stand, repeat the process.
The Final Stand
During Final Stand, you will gain stacks of Pervading Darkness. Kill Rhulk before your stacks hit ten to prevent a wipe.
