Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph: Vesper’s Host Weapons and Armor

|
The Vesper's Host Anomaly in Destiny 2

Every raid and dungeon pre-Edge of Fate in Destiny 2 received gear tiering. There is a new armor set with an individual set bonus for each one. Some dungeons and raids saw their weapons get additional perks, while others got new weapons added to their pool. Vesper’s Host is notorious for being one of the hardest dungeons in Destiny 2. However, it has some of the best weapons in the game.

There are four Vesper’s Host Weapons in rotation:

  • VS Pyroelectric Propellant – Adaptive Frame Arc Auto Rifle
  • VS Gravitic Arrest – Adaptive Frame Void Fusion Rifle
  • VS Velocity Baton – Area Denial Frame Void Grenade Launcher
  • VS Chill Inhibitor – Rapid-Fire Frame Stasis Grenade Launcher

Bray Legacy is the Origin Trait for the dungeon weapons, which reads as follows: Damage with this weapon generates an improved amount of ability energy for the one closest to full charge.

Destiny 2: VS Pyroelectric Propellant

VS Pyroelectric Propellant is an Adaptive Frame Arc Auto Rifle. It is one of the better Auto Rifles in the game, and is the premier Arc option for PvE players. The Origin Trait coupled with the Frame makes it a powerful option. However, it does fall behind some of the best Auto Rifles in the game. Attrition Orbs is the best option in the third column. The fourth column has a couple of options in the form of Jolting Feedback, Gear Shift, and Onslaught, depending on your playstyle.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Attrition Orbs
    • Rewind Rounds
    • Zen Moment
    • Killing Wind
    • Eddy Current
    • Strategist
  • Column 4
    • Jolting Feedback
    • Tap the Trigger
    • Target Lock
    • Kill Clip
    • Gear Shift
    • Onslaught

Best Roll – PvE Use Only

  • Barrel – Fluted Barrel
  • Magazine – Flared Magwell
  • Column 3 – Attrition Orbs
  • Column 4 – Jolting Feedback
  • Masterwork – Stability

Destiny 2: VS Gravitic Arrest

VS Gravitic Arrest is an Adaptive Frame Void Fusion Rifle. Gravitic Arrest falls by the wayside in terms of Fusion Rifles. Adaptive Frame Fusion Rifles are not the worst per se, but they fall in comparison to others. The fire rate is not fast enough, nor is the damage high enough to match the best options. If you are looking for a faster-charging Witherzing Gaze Fusion Rifle, Gravitic Arrest is the best for that. It also lacks strong perks in the third column to push it into the upper echelon.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Lead From Gold
    • Under Pressure
    • Repulsor Brace
    • Demolitionist
    • Attrition Orbs
    • Dimensional Shift
  • Column 4

  • Battery – Accelerated Coils
  • Column 3 – Lead From Gold
  • Column 4 – Controlled Burst
  • Masterwork – Charge Time

Destiny 2: VS Velocity Baton

VS Velocity Baton is an Area Denial Frame Void Grenade Launcher. It was the second Area Denial Frame added to Destiny 2, and the first for the energy slot. At the time of release, it was one of the best weapons in the game. The reprised version remains at the top as the premier Area Denial option. It has almost every perk you would want on a weapon of its type. You can choose between AoE perks that focus predominantly on Void builds or go for the generic Attrition Orbs.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Repulsor Brace
    • Dimensional Shift
    • Unrelenting
    • Reconstruction
    • Demolitionist
    • Envious Arsenal
  • Column 4
    • Destabilizing Rounds
    • Frenzy

    • Attrition Orbs

  • Column 3 – Reconstruction
  • Column 4 – Attrition Orbs
  • Masterwork – Handling

Destiny 2: VS Chill Inhibitor

VS Chill Inhibitor is a Rapid-Fire Frame Stasis Grenade Launcher. The Grenade Launcher has always been one of the premier options in Destiny 2. However, Grenade Launchers have fallen by the wayside in terms of damage strategies. Chill Inhibitor is still one of the best Grenade Launchers in the game. There are two options you can go for in the third column. Envious Arsenal is more consistent, while Cascade Point is better for burst damage. The fourth column is loaded with perks depending on what you need or want to use.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Cascade Point
    • Danger Zone
    • Chill Clip
    • Attrition Orbs
    • Envious Arsenal
    • Demolitionist
  • Column 4
    • Aggregate Charge
    • Bait and Switch
    • Surronded
    • Chain Reaction
    • Explosive Light
    • Elemental Honing

  • Barrel – Quick Launch
  • Magazine – Spike Grenades
  • Column 3 – Envious Arsenal
  • Column 4 – Aggregate Charge
  • Masterwork – Handling

Spacewalk Armor Set Bonus

  • 2-piece – Augmented Armaments
    • Primary ammo weapons deal increased damage to disoriented combatants.
  • 4-piece – Augmented Explosives
    • Your grenade abilities release an additional disorienting pulse shortly after detonating.

There is very little reason to run the Spacewalk Armor set. Disorient is a fairly rare keyword to proc. As a result, you will not get much use from the two-piece. The four-piece is okay, but requires too much investment for little gain.
