Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph: Duality Weapons and Armor

|
The opening to the Duality Dungeon in Destiny 2

Every raid and dungeon pre-Edge of Fate in Destiny 2 received gear tiering. There is a new armor set with an individual set bonus for each one. Some dungeons and raids saw their weapons get additional perks, while others got new weapons added to their pool. Duality sees players take on Nightmares of Calus’ past, including his daughter, Caital, to earn some of the best weapons in their archetype.

There are four Duality weapons in rotation:

  • New Purpose – High Impact Frame Stasis Pulse Rifle
  • Lingering Dread – Lightweight Frame Stasis Grenade Launcher
  • Unforgiven – Aggressive Frame Void Submachine Gun
  • Stormchaser – Adaptive Burst Frame Arc Linear Fusion Rifle

Duality has two additional weapons that did not get updated perks with the Monument of Triumph update. We will not be covering these weapons in this article.

  • The Epicurean – Precision Frame Void Fusion Rifle
  • Fixed Odds – High Impact Frame Solar Machine Gun

Bitterspite is the Origin Trait for the dungeon weapons, which reads as follows: While this weapon is equipped, taking damage accelerates its next reload. Taking more damage increases the effect.

Destiny 2: New Purpose

New Purpose is a High Impact Frame Stasis Pulse Rifle. New Purpose’s frame has always made it a weaker option for PvE purposes. The updated perks did not move the needle enough to make it a more viable PvE option than PvP. On the other hand, it became stronger in PvP with the addition of Headseeker to its perk pool.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Headstone
    • Rapid Hit
    • Grave Robber

  • Magazine – Accurised Rounds
  • Column 3 – Zen Moment
  • Column 4 – Headseeker
  • Masterwork – Range

Destiny 2: Lingering Dread

Lingering Dread is a Lightweight Frame Stasis Grenade Launcher. Lingering Dread was the first special ammo grenade launcher with Disorienting Grenades and Chill Clip. As a result, it has really good utility. The updated perk pools kept that as an option. It is currently the best utility Grenade Launcher in the game thanks to its crowd control.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Subsistence
    • Auto-Loading Holster
    • Ambitious Assassin

Destiny 2: Unforgiven

Unforgiven is an Aggressive Frame Void Submachine Gun. The first version of Unforgiven did not reach high heights. The lack of a strong column 3 perk made it less appealing for players. However, the recent update has increased its strength. It is now the best Void Submachine Gun in the game, with the only weapon to have Destabilizing Rounds and Chaos Reshaped as a potential perk combination.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Destabilizing Rounds
    • Demolitionist
    • Feeding Frenzy
    • Ambitious Assassin
    • Attrition Orbs
    • Rewind Rounds
  • Column 4
    • Repulsor Brace

    • Desperate Measures

  • Magazine – Flared Magwell
  • Column 3 – Destabilizing Rounds
  • Column 4 – Chaos Reshaped

Destiny 2: Stormchaser

Stormchaser is an Adaptive Burst Frame Arc Linear Fusion Rifle. Stormchaser was the first Adaptive Burst Frame Linear Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2. It made it a unique find for players. It quickly fell out of favor due to its weaker perk pool and the drop in Linear Fusion Rifles. The updated perks make it a more viable option, with the addition of Elemental Honing. However, it still falls behind other DPS options.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Clown Cartridge
    • Auto-Loading Holster
    • Supercharged Magazine
    • Jolting Feedback
    • Rapid Hit
    • Light Touch
  • Column 4

    • Elemental Honing
    • Precision Instrument
    • Aggregate Charge

Destiny 2: Deep Explorer – Armor Set Bonus

The Deep Explorer Destiny 2 Armor Set

  • 2-piece – Built Better
    • Taking damage increases the reload speed of your equipped weapon until it is stowed. Taking more damage increases the effect.
  • 4-piece – Bittersweet
    • When you stow a weapon, restore health based on the number of Built Bitter stacks lost.

The Armor set bonus is very similar to the Origin Trait of the Duality weapons. Overall, it is a decent Origin Trait that will increase the value of your weapons in both PvE and PvP. It is unlikely to be the go-to choice for many, but it is a nice addition to a player’s arsenal.
