Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph: Pit of Heresy Weapons and Armor

|
The Pit of Heresy Dungeon in Destiny 2

Every raid and dungeon pre-Edge of Fate in Destiny received gear tiering. There is a new armor set with an individual set bonus for each one. Some dungeons and raids saw their weapons get additional perks, while others got new weapons added to their pool. Pit of Heresy is one of those dungeons. It has four weapons from Episode: Heresy, the final episode before Edge of Fate launched.

There are four Pit of Heresy Weapons in Rotation:

  • Adamantite – Support Frame Strand Auto Rifle
  • Refusal of the Call – Adaptive Strand
  • Pyschopomp – Arena Denial Frame Arc Grenade Launcher
  • Eyes Unveiled – Precision Frame Void Linear Fusion Rifle

All dungeon weapons come with the Origin Trait Heretical Behaviour, which reads as follows: Sustained weapon damage or final blows versus powerful targets grant this weapon bonus reload, handling, and damage versus combatants. Gain this bonus immediately for a longer duration when you are revived.

Adamantite

Adamantite is a Support Frame Strand Auto Rifle. Adamantite was the second Support Frame Auto Rifle released in Destiny 2 after No Hesitation during The Final Shape. It returns with similar perks and good strand synergies. It is the only Strand Support Frame, and one of two in the Kinetic slot.

Refusal of the Call

Refusal of the Call is an Adaptive Frame Strand Glaive. Much like Adamantite, it is the first and only Strand Galive in Destiny 2. As a result, it is the only Glaive with Strand-related perks. Generally, Glaives are best for its defence capabilities. Our recommendation is to focus on building towards enhancing its defensive capabilities.

Pyschopomp is an Area Denial Frame Arc Grenade Launcher. Upon its initial release, it was one of the strongest Area Denial Frame Grenade Launchers in the game. It has gotten even better in this update, with the addition of its Origin Trait. Elemental Honing returns to the weapon, while the Auto-loading holster has replaced Envious Arsenal.

Eyes Unveiled

Eyes Unveiled is an Adaptive Frame Void Linear Fusion Rifle. It was far from a premier option when the gun released in Episode: Hersy. With no dominant reloading or damage perks, it fell by the wayside. However, it has become the best Legendary Linear Fusion Rifle in the game with its update. Fourth Times the Charm and Elemental Honing are its best standard perks. Mega Kill Clip is good in some situations, depending on whether you can get a kill or not.

Apostate’s Blade – Armor Set Bonus

  • 2-piece – Regenerative Threshold
    • Performing a finisher stores power. The next time your shields are broken, consume stored power to heal and start health regeneration immediately.
  • 4-piece – Melee Conduction
    • While you have Radiant, Restoration, or Cure, your melee hits release a burst that will scorch the target.

The 2-piece armor set is decent. It can keep you alive in tricky situations. Getting a finisher in Destiny 2 is relatively easy to guarantee, giving yourself a boost in survivability. The four-piece is not really worth building into. The value gained is not substantial for the investment required.
