Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph: Warlord’s Ruin Weapons and Armor

The Warlord's Ruin promo art in Destiny 2

Every raid and dungeon pre-Edge of Fate in Destiny 2 received gear tiering. There is a new armor set with an individual set bonus for each one. Some dungeons and raids saw their weapons get additional perks, while others got new weapons added to their pool. The Warlord’s Ruin dungeon has never had the most appealing gear for players, but the new perks make a difference to the power of the weapons.

There are four Warlord’s Ruin weapons in rotation:

  • Vengeful Whisper – Precision Frame Strand Combat
  • Naeem’s Lance – Rapid-Fire Frame Strand Sniper Rifle
  • Indebted Kindness – Micro-Missile Frame Arc Sidearm
  • Dragoncult Sickle – Caster Frame Strand Sword

Sundering is the Origin Trait for the dungeon weapons, which reads as follows: Destroying vehicles and constructs or breaking target shields grants this weapon bonus reload speed and charge rate. Constructs include barricades, turrets, Stasis crystals, and other objects created in the field.

Destiny 2: Vengeful Whisper

Vengeful Whisper is a Precision Frame Strand Combat Bow. Overall, the draw time for the bow makes it one of the weaker archetypes that you can have. It has decent perks that will help it. It is also the only Strand Combat Bow, making it a unique chase for players. You can go with the all-round good combination that we recommend, or choose the Strand-related perks that it offers. There is also an option for double AoE perks with Explosive Head and Meganeura.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Slice

  • Shaft – Compact Arrow Shaft
  • Column 3 – Archer’s Tempo
  • Column 4 – Meganeura

Destiny 2: Naeem’s Lance

Naeem’s Lance is a Rapid-Fire Frame Strand Sniper Rifle. Naeem’s Lance is one of the best archetypes for Sniper Rifle DPS. However, its perks have never been enough to propel it higher. The Origin Trait is also too niche to help it. The new perks give it some more potency, but it still falls behind the other Sniper Rifles in the same column. Reconstruction and Rewind Rounds are not enough to help it compete with a weapon like Praedyth’s Revenge.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Hatchling
    • Deconstruct
    • Reconstruction
    • Rewind rounds

Destiny 2: Indebted Kindness

Indebted Kindness is a Micro-Missile Frame Arc Sidearm. It was the first Rocket-assisted Sidearm added into Destiny 2. The original version was a mainstay in players’ inventories until The Final Shape. However, Aberrant Action and many others flew past it in effectiveness. Unfortunately, the new perks do not add much value. It is still one of the weaker Rocket-assisted Sidearms, but it is the best of the two Arc options.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Beacon Rounds
    • Impulse Amplifier
    • Deconstruct
    • Danger Zone
    • Trickle Charge
    • Air Trigger
  • Column 4
    • Attrition Orbs
    • Voltshot
    • Surrounded
    • Gear Shift
    • Chain Reaction
    • Rolling Storm

Best Roll – PvE Use Only

  • Barrel – Quick Launch
  • Magazine – High-Explosive Ordinance
  • Column 3 – Air Trigger
  • Column 4 – Voltshot

Destiny 2: Dragoncult Sickle

Dragoncult Sickle is a Caster Frame Strand Sword. The original version of the Sword did not have good enough perks to tempt players. The Monument of Triumph version sees some improvement. However, it still falls behind. It is one of four Caster Frame swords to get the Eager Edge added in this update. There are a couple of damage options with Whirlwind Blade, Elemental Honing, and Surrounded. However, the Sword lacks a good damage-oriented third column perk.

Perks

  • Column 3
    • Blade – Jagged Edge
    • Guard – Swordmaster’s Guard
    • Column 3 – Eager Edge
    • Column 4 – Surrounded
    • Masterwork – Impact

Destiny 2: Dark Age Armor Set Bonus

  • 2-piece – Taking Initiative
    • Hitting combatants with melee attacks or Sword strikes grants a stack of Initiative, giving bonus handling and reload. Stacks decay slowly over time.
  • 4-piece – Healing Initiative
    • While you have Initiative, using your class ability creates a stationary healing aura. The aura gains increased healing based on the number of Initiative stacks.

The four-piece bonus is an interesting one to consider. It could work well with builds like the Hunter Combination Blow build. However, with a significant amount of healing sources in the game, it is unlikely that you need to invest in another one.
