KT Rolster and Dplus KIA have already met in the LCK Playoffs. The last meeting had an unexpected result. KT stormed through the series with a 3-0 victory. It included a 14k comeback in game two. DK will be looking for revenge. Both teams will want the final World Championship spot. DK missed out last year, while KT lost to T1 in the Grand Final. Who will join Gen.G Esports, Hanwha Life Esports, and T1 at Worlds?

Recent Meeting

Everyone expected DK to win the previous meeting between the two teams. KT stunned the world with the 3-0 victory. DK were not themselves for most of the series. They dominated game two, but threw away their lead. Even against BFX, DK looked shaky. They had to reverse-sweep the only Rise Group team in the playoffs. DK will want revenge over KT in the rematch.

Featured Matchup

Bdd Versus ShowMaker

The mid lane matchup was the featured matchup in our preview. It is the same again for this series. Bdd remains the lynchpin to KT’s success. When he can impact the game, KT has a better chance. ShowMaker was the only consistent member in DK’s win over BFX. Even in the losses, he performed well. He needs to do it again to help DK win.

What Did DK Learn?

DK had time to study their loss to KT. Most of their downfall came from drafts and misplays. KT will not have the chance to catch DK off guard with Trundle. However, KT might have other champions in their back pocket. BFX played multiple top lane champions throughout their postseason run. Each one served as a counter-pick to meta top laners. KT or DK could use one of them in the series. For the most part, DK will need Smash and Career to step up. KT’s bot lane is their weak point. If the DK bot lane can regain their form, they will run over Jiwoo and Effort. The win against BFX should help restore some of their confidence.

Will KT Feel the Pressure?

As noted before, KT thrives when no one expects them to win. They play without fear, and they dismantled DK with it. After the win, some may believe in KT to win the series. That could put pressure on the 2025 World Championship runner-ups. If both teams reach their peak, DK should win. The loss may also keep DK in check, hopefully not letting their confidence get the better of them. That was one reason they lost game two against KT. They thought they could win no matter how the fights went. It came back to bite them, and their confidence dropped.

KT Rolster Versus Dplus KIA Prediction

KT Rolster 2-3 Dplus KIA

Despite their win, KT should not be favored in the series. DK has the better roster, but it all comes down to the performance on the day. KT will need more pocket picks to keep DK on their toes. Siwoo suffers against the counter picks, and DK struggles to play around them. KT did not show any additional picks against Gen.G Esports. They may have intentionally hidden them, should they need a counter pick in this series. Either team can win, and it will all depend on who gets out of the gate faster.

The Final World Championship Spot

Only one LCK Worlds spot remains. The winner between KT and DK will take that spot. All four LCK teams will start in the Swiss Stage. T1 is waiting for their opponent in the Lower Bracket Final. That series will take place on Sunday.
