The LCK Play-Ins stage has ended. FearX joined KT Rolster as the two teams to qualify for the Playoffs. T1 chose BFX as their Round 1 opponents. BFX showed resilience during the Play-Ins, coming back from a series deficit against HANJIN BRION. The last time T1 and BFX met in the Playoffs, BFX won 3-1. That was back in the LCK Cup. What tricks does BFX have up their sleeve to take down the World Champions?

Recent Match History and LCK Records

T1 and BFX have met five times in 2026. Five of those were best-of-three series. T1 won all of them, with only one being a 2-1. BFX won the only best-of-five series between the two teams. BFX has not beaten T1 since Taeyoon joined.

BFX had an even record during Rounds 3-4, going 1-1 in each week. They won both of their series during the Play-Ins, beating Nongshim Redforce and HANJIN BRION. T1 is on a downturn recently. They went 3-5 in Rounds 3-4, including a 0-2 home-ground record.

Peyz Versus Taeyoon

Few have stood up to Peyz this year. He is often the difference-maker for T1. When T1 needs a late-game carry, they can look to Peyz. He and Keria are one of the most dangerous bot lanes in the world. Taeyoon will have work cut out for him in this series. He does not need to beat Peyz, but staying close is vital. He can not afford to let Peyz have his way. If Peyz surges ahead, BFX is in trouble.

Which Jungler Will Start?

Hanwha Life Esports broke their loss streak with a 2-1 win over T1

For the first time in a long time, Oner’s spot is not guaranteed. Painter subbed in for Oner in Week 11 against Hanwha Life Esports. Painter was not terrible, but he lacked the necessary killer instinct. Oner returned for the home-ground and has stayed as the starter since. He has had middling performances since returning. We do not know if he will start the Playoffs, or if T1 will turn to Painter.

Oner, at his peak, can outperform any Jungler on the rift. He is one of the best Junglers in the crucial moments. Will T1 turn to his experience, or will they look for something different in Painter? T1 should get past BFX, regardless of their starting Jungler, but they need stability for the rest of the playoffs.

Exploiting T1’s Solo Laners

Of the best teams in the LCK, T1 has the weakest solo laners in terms of laning prowess. Neither Doran nor Faker made it into the LCK All-Pro teams. Many teams have exploited their weaknesses. Both Doran and Faker like to take risks in the laning phase. However, they are both capable of extraordinary teamfighting. BFX will need to leverage the weaknesses if they stand a chance.

Unlike other teams, BFX do not have the best solo laners. VicLa and Clear are inconsistent. They can take on Doran and Faker, but is it enough? They need more than gaining leads. We have seen with T1 that leaning on Peyz is enough to carry them through. They did it against Gen.G Esports earlier in the year.

T1 Versus FearX Prediction

T1 3-1 FearX

T1 rarely play clean series. Even at their peak, they lose a game or two during a series. BFX can punish T1 if they falter. T1 will not need their best to win, but it must be close. They have plenty of footage to study going into the series. Giving Faker and Doran comfortable matchups will help T1. Neither needs a significant advantage to get past BFX. Leaning on Peyz will likely get them the victory as it has so many times this year.

Putting Your Best Foot Forward

Neither team is out of the playoffs should they lose the series. The winner will advance to Round 2 to await Gen.G’s choice. The loser will face either Dplus KIA or KT Rolster in the Lower Bracket. Winning this series gives you a higher chance of qualifying for the World Championship. In T1’s case, if they win and both Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports win their series, they will be at worst the 4th seed.
