LCK 2026 Road to MSI KT Versus Gen.G – Gen.G Are the Heavy Favourites for Victory
Gen.G Esports meets a familiar foe in the LCK Road to MSI. KT Rolster has surprised everyone before by defeating Gen.G in a best-of-series. KT won twice against Gen.G last year. The first was in the LCK Playoffs and the World Championship. They are up against it again, with Gen.G being the favorite to win the series. The winner will advance to face T1 for a spot at MSI.
Gen.G Esports Versus KT Rolster Records and Match History

Gen.G has a weaker regular season than normal in the LCK. They finished in third place with a 14-4 record. KT Rolster was one position behind with a 13-3 record. The two teams have played against each other three times this year. KT won one of those matches at the start of the LCK Regular Season. Gen.G won the most recent series 2-0.

Kiin Versus PerfecT
PerfecT has had a surge in recent months. His performance improved in the World Championship last year. He struggled in the LCK Cup, but was a vital part of KT’s success at the beginning of the LCK regular season. He has to face the king of the top lane in Kiin. He has been the most stable part of the Gen.G roster alongside Chovy. If PerfecT can not stand up to Kiin, KT might lose in no time.
KT Rolster Always Delivers
KT always finds a way to surprise everyone. When they are the favorites to win a series, they underperform. However, when no one expects them to win, they match their opponents. KT beat Gen.G twice last year when no one expected them to. Even at the beginning of the regular season, everyone predicted Gen.G to win. Granted, no one expected Gen.G to underperform at the start of the regular season, and KT to have their best start in LCK history. If the performances are similar, KT might have a chance to beat Gen.G.
Will Gen.G Have Rust
Usually, when it comes to playoff time, Gen.G takes a while to ramp up. It happened in the last Road to MSI, when they almost fell to Hanwha Life Esports. They came alive in game three and completed the reverse sweep to qualify for MSI. They must now win two consecutive series to defend their international title. Fortunately, they have an easier matchup to kick off their Road to MSI. While they can not underestimate KT, they are not on the same level as HLE or T1. If Gen.G struggles to get started, KT might have their chance.
Gen.G Esports Versus KT Rolster Prediction

Prediction: Gen.G 3-0
There is little to show that KT will win a game against Gen.G Esports. Given their recent form, they should not match up to the defending MSI champions. KT may have won against Dplus KIA, but it was not an impressive win. KT predominantly won because of DK’s mistakes. If they fall behind early against Gen.G, they will not get the same opportunities that DK gave them. Gen.G rarely gives opportunities to come back in games. They will take a small lead, and then all of a sudden, they have a 10k gold lead, and the game is over.
T1 in the Final Match
The winner of the series will face T1 on Sunday for the final spot at MSI. Gen.G is the back-to-back defending champion at MSI. Almost no one would have Gen.G missing MSI on their bingo cards at the start of the year. If Gen.G loses, they will return for the Esports World Cup, while KT only plays again in Round 3 of the LCK regular season.
