The LCK Road to MSI playoffs kicked off with Dplus KIA taking on HANJIN BRION. After a close series between the teams during the regular season, there was promise for another one today. However, that was not the case. Game one was close and in BRO’s hands, but it fell away after that. The second and third games were not competitive. DK stormed away with the victory. They will play against KT Rolster tomorrow.

Series Summary

Game One – BRO Tosses Their Lead

The early game was slow between both teams. Siwoo was winning in isolation. BRO built a lead on Teddy with two successive dives, while DK put Casting further behind. BRO got the better of DK at the Rift Herald fight to even the gold. Moments later, Teddy died, and DK restored their lead. GIDEON and Roamer connected onto Smash in the mid lane, and the game exploded. BRO took Baron and got their first significant gold lead of the game. They attempted another mid-lane fight, but it went sideways. DK dismantled BRO, ending the game.

Game Two – Won From the First Minute

DK puts a lot of pressure in every lane. Casting can not farm, and Roamer loses his Anivia passive. It goes from bad to worse for BRO as Casting and Roamer die. The only lane that has a chance to compete is the bot lane. Smash earns a solo kill on Teddy, and the game becomes unwinnable. BRO makes a couple of plays, but it merely stems the bleeding. BRO is left defending everywhere and loses every play. DK ends the game at 21 minutes.

Game Three – Winning Early Again

Loki subbed in for the third game. Game three was more of the same as game two. BRO fell behind early and never recovered in the game. It was Smash’s turn to get fed on Mel, and he became a threat to BRO the entire game. Most of the mid-game saw BRO members getting caught, resulting in the gold lead rising. There was no respite for BRO as they fell further and further behind. Game three ended before the 24-minute mark.

BRO Crumbled

BRo had game one in their hands. With a 4k gold lead and Cloud Soul point, all they needed was to play slowly for the next Drake. However, they had an inopportune fight, and DK ended the game. That was the last time BRO was competitive in the series. They fell behind early in games two and three. It appeared that their mistake in game one took its toll on the players.

Even Loki subbing in is an indicator that the team did not recover mentally during the series. DK takes the dominant victory, but there is little to say about them in this series. They should not have won game one, and the rest of the series fell into their laps. They will need to do better for the rest of the Road to MSI.

KT Rolster Waiting

DK’s 3-0 win over BRO means that they advance to the next round of the Road to MSI. They will face KT Rolster tomorrow in another best-of-five series. Despite KT’s struggles towards the end of the LCK regular season, they are a step up from BRO. DK will need to be at their best to have a chance at taking down KT. For BRO, their first half of the LCK season comes to an end. They will have to wait until after MSI and EWC to play on stage again. When they return, they will be in the Rise Group along with KRX, FearX, Nongshim Redforce, and DN SOOPers.
