LCK 2026 Regular Season Day 41: The Gap Closes While FearX Survives to Fight Another Day
Hanwha Life Esports needs one more series victory to finish first in the LCK. They missed their opportunity to clinch their spot, losing to Gen.G Esports. There is still a chance that HLE finishes outside the top two. Gen.G has given themselves a chance to finish in a top-two spot. Elsewhere, FearX is still in the running for the LCK Road to MSI, following their win over KRX.
Gen.G Esports Versus Hanwha Life Esports

Game One – HLE Bide Their Time
The early game is in Gen.G’s favor, but not in the kill count. They get individual lane advantages to build their lead. They do not give HLE an angle for the first fifteen or so minutes. However, the team fights are where HLE reigns supreme. Gen.G can rarely find angles. Canyon steals away the Baron to stall HLE’s recovery. Gumayusi is mostly untouched in fights as Zeus frontlines for him. Kanavi always tries to burn Chovy’s Flash to prevent him from getting close to Gumayusi. HLE nearly threw the game away after staying too long in Gen.G’s base. In 5v5s, HLE still has control, and their second Baron push ends the game.
Game Two – Gen.G’s Topside Carries Them Through
Ruler was not allowed to play in the early game. Kanavi targeted him to give Gumayusi a significant gold lead. Even the first bot lane skirmish went in HLE’s favor. However, the game turned when Zeka went for a top lane play. Kiin survived long enough for Canyon and Chovy to arrive. The duo set out to carry the mid-game. They set up picks that always resulted in someone dying, and HLE lost gold on the map.
In the pivotal fight around the Chemtech Soul point, it would be Chovy once more. He landed the Charm onto Zeus, which killed him before he could react. He also simultaneously forced Gumayusi’s Flash and landed a charm onto Zeka to win the fight. HLE caught Chovy to negate the deficit. However, Ruler and Duro hid in the river bush waiting for HLE. They executed perfectly to assassinate Gumayusi and Kanavi. Gen.G charged down mid and ended the game.
Game Three – Gen.G Slam Dunk
The early game was explosive, with two fights occurring. The topside fight was even, but Gen.G’s botlane crushed theirs. HLE went for a desperation play on Kiin in the mid-game. The play failed with Gen.G winning 4v5. They aced them, while Ruler pushed bot lane. HLE tried to overload the side lanes, but Gen.G never gave them the opportunity. They played it safe, and Gen.G’s plays were successful. The final team fight for Drake went horribly for HLE. Canyon stole the Drake away, and they got aced again. Minutes later, Gen.G ended the LCK series.

FearX Versus KRX

Game One – Rise Group Action
KRX had control of the game early. Ucal and Willer soared away into a lead with multiple successful ganks. Both supports struggled to stay alive, but more importantly, KRX emerged ahead. BFX thought they had a way back after they caught Ucal. However, Lazyfeel with Rich to tank carried the fight. One pick on Taeyoon in the mid-game led to KRX getting the Baron. BFX’s Realm Warp play shut down KRX’s Baron push. All members died, and the gold became even. Andil engaged too far in the mid-lane, and that meant BFX crushed another fight and ended the game.
Game Two – The Mid Jungle Makes a Difference
In game one, KRX’s mid-jungle got them a lead. Game two was more of the same. They caught Raptor and VicLa numerous times to build their lead. Raptor even died once solo to Rich. With Raptor and VicLa playing Naafiri and Sylas, they could not do anything but go in. Unfortunately for them, that often led to their demise. BFX had some moments where they won fights, but nothing significant. Even though it took KRX a while, they eventually broke open the base and ended the game.
Game Three – Taeyoon Carries BFX
Taeyoon had a rough first couple of minutes as he lost Flash and died. Fortunately for him, BFX was able to win the first skirmish of the game, and he restored parity. VicLa struggled in the laning phase, giving Ucal a lead. The teams stayed even for most of the game, but BFX had a slight lead.
KRX’s Ocean Soul fight was nail-biting. Raptor secured the Drake, but the teams traded four kills. Ucal picked up all four, and he became the problem for BFX. It would be between Taeyoon and Ucal on who could carry more. In the end, it was Taeyoon. Every time he walked up, he chunked out an opponent. His Cullings almost always forced KRX back. The pressure from the AD carry was relentless, and BFX won the LCK series.

Gen.G Still in The Hunt
Gen.G’s win over HLE keeps the door wide open. HLE can still finish outside the top two in the LCK, and Gen.G has a hand on that spot. With a match against BRO upcoming for both teams, they should end up with wins. With KT Rolster and T1 facing off this week, only one other team can reach fourteen wins in the LCK. T1 is in better form, but can drop unnecessary games.
KRX Out of Contention
Following their loss to BFX, KRX no longer has a chance to finish sixth in Round 2 of the LCK. Their game score will be worse than BFX or HANJIN BRION. The game loss for BFX means they have to win their final series to overtake BRO and hope that BRO loses both series. It is possible, given that BRO must play against HLE and Gen.G in the LCK
