LCK 2026 Regular Season Day 38: Gen.G Closes The Gap With Their Victory

The 2026 LCK Regular Season Logo

The race for the top two is heating up in the LCK. Gen.G Esports victory has allowed for either them or T1 to take second place. KT Rolster remains one series victory ahead of the two teams, but both are closing in. With Gen.G and T1 playing later this week, they could go into the final week tied. On the other hand, DN SOOPers struggle to get going against KRX.

Game One – A Quick Collapse

Peter and deokdam earn a 2v2 kill early on their return to the LCK. However, that is short-lived as deokdam dies moments later. DNS loses control over their bot lane, and the map starts to snowball. With deokdam so far behind the curve, they do not have the damage to contend with KRX. The Rift Herald fight was their last chance to get back in the game. Clozer missed his Fate Sealed on Ucal, and the team collapsed. Lazyfeel was untouched in fights and carried them to victory.

Game Two – More of The Same

DNS takes a skirmish in the bot river, and it goes wrong. They lose two members, and the game is already difficult. Fortunately, DuDu solo kills Rich to restore some hope. That hope does not last long as every fight goes awry. DNS’s pick composition struggles to kill the first target, and Willer cleans up every time. He alone picks up the majority of the kills and becomes unkillable. Even when DNS kills a target, they lack the damage to win the fight. The final fight takes place in DNS’s base. They get a pick on Ucal, but the rest of KRX respond to end the game.

KT Rolster Versus Gen.G Esports

Game One – A Gen.G Masterclass

Gen.G plays their limits perfectly throughout the game. At every turn, Gen.G gets the advantage, from better map movements to better teamfighting, Gen.G has it. Every time KT thinks they can escape, Ruler’s Curtain Call makes it costly for them. There are multiple occasions where Gen.G members survive with low health. The game ends with Gen.G winning with seventeen kills to zero. Fortunately, KT destroyed two Turrets to prevent the perfect game.

Game Two – Gen.G Find The Pivotal Fight

KT runs the early game. Besides the First Blood kill, Gen.G gets very little. Cuzz even steals away the first Drake from Canyon. Chovy dies multiple times in the mid lane to ganks or solo to Bdd. Canyon does steal one Drake back, but the fight remains in KT’s favor. Around the 25-minute mark, KT catches Chovy near the Baron pit. With Canyon also dead, it becomes an easy objective for them to take. They increase the gold lead to 5k, marching towards a victory. Gen.G stalls the game out until they find the perfect engagement. PerfecT dies early, and Duro hits the ideal encore. Only Aiming is left standing as Gen.G ends the game.

Champions Played

KT Rolster

  • PerfecT – Ambessa, Jayce
  • Cuzz – Pantheon, Trundle
  • Bdd – Anivia, Cassiopeia
  • Aiming – Ezreal, Corki
  • Effort – Nami, Nautilus

  • Canyon – Naafiri, Nocturne
  • Chovy – Ryze, Galio
  • Ruler – Jhin, Ashe
  • Duro – Karma, Seraphine

Peter and deokdam Return

Mysteriously, both Peter and deokdam have seen time on the bench in the regular season. They returned today, but that did little to reverse DNS fortunes. The team is disjointed and does not play cohesively. They are now on a twenty-eight-game loss streak. There is no end in sight to their streak as they go towards the final three series of their LCK regular season.

Gen.G Snap Victory In the Face of Defeat

Gen.G started the LCK series with a bang. Winning without anyone on their team dying showed their dominance. However, game two was completely different. They fell behind early and could not find a way back until the final moments. Gen.G showed how lethal they are. One KT mistake in a fight was all they needed to end the game.
