The race for the top two in the LCK is heating up. Any of Hanwha Life Esports, Gen.G Esports, T1, or KT Rolster can finish in the top two. Gen.G and T1’s wins today mean the two teams head into the final week with the same series and game score. HLE should finish first, but there is a scenario where they finish outside the top two. HANJIN BRION sees their chances for the Legend Group fade away. They are still in the hunt for the final LCK Road to MSI spot.

DN SOOPers Versus Gen.G Esports

Game One – Ahead Early

Gen.G’s bot lane trades heavily early and calls Canyon over. They successfully execute the dive. Ruler has a near 1k gold lead at four minutes. Duro roams the map, mainly focusing on the top lane to neutralize DuDu. The plays are successful as Gen.G continues to build their lead. Gen.G gets an early Baron and looks primed to end the game. However, they have some happy gaming, and they walk in one by one to die. Only Kiin lives, and the gold swings by 4k. The gold swing does not matter, and Gen.G closed out the game.

Game Two – Some Hope

The game starts similarly to the first. deokdam and Peter die under the turret early on. Fortunately for DNS, the game does not snowball from there. They work their way back in with a handful of kills, but are still behind in gold. One team fight is all Gen.G needed to get the ball rolling. Kiin and Ruler opened up to dominate the fight. Kiin died once after that, which gave some hope. However, Gen.G quickly crushed that hope by storming to a win.

T1 Versus HANJIN BRION

T1 kept in the hunt for second place with their win over BRO in the LCK

Game One – T1 Win Through Bot Lane Again

BRO drafts Jhin Pyke to try to combat the Caitlyn Lux from Peyz and Keria. The pick fails as Namgung dies early. Peyz continues to snowball the lane, even diving Teddy solo. BRO do not lead the game get out of hand as they focus on taking Drakes when T1 is not in a position to contest. T1 always has the gold lead, but it never feels like BRO is out of it. Right before the Cloud Soul for BRO, Doran finds the angle onto Namgung and Roamer. They win the fight and deny the soul. Then it is Doran again near the Baron, who catches BRO, and T1 ends the game.

Game Two – A Fantastic Turnaround

The early game action takes place in the bot lane, with one solo kill in the top lane. T1 botches a dive while Casting solo kills Doran. The two teams battle each other in the bot lane. The game explodes near the Drake pit. BRO ace T1 and have a 4k gold lead. BRO’s lead crests around 6k as they play around the map.

The pivotal fight comes on BRO’s Cloud Soul point. Faker goes down to his Egg, but Oner uses the time to engage. Roamer and Casting die. T1 chooses to take the Baron and give over Cloud Soul. BRO tries to punish their push in the bot lane, but it was disjointed. Everyone but Roamer dies, giving T1 the time to push for the end.

Will DNS Get a Win?

Obviously, no one expected DNS to beat Gen.G today. Even at their best, this team can barely stand up to Gen.G. But with one week of LCK action left, the question remains: will DNS win a game? They face Nongshim Redforce and KT Rolster, two LCK teams that, on paper, DNS will struggle against.

BRO Show Their Worth

Game two did see happy gaming from T1. However, BRO forced T1 into many of those mistakes. They have what it takes to contend with the top teams. T1 did show some of their weaknesses today, with their ability to punish laning mistakes and bad teamfight setups in the late game.
