Leave it to T1 to make their fans sweat. They had no business making their race for the top two in the LCK so difficult. Ultimately, they earned their 2-0 victory over FearX and gave themselves the best chance to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational. DN SOOPers ended Round 2 with yet another loss, this time to KT Rolster.

Game One – A Classic DNS Game

DNS builds an early lead with a fight win in their jungle and a bot lane skirmish win. For the next couple of minutes, Peter dies multiple times, and DNS can not play the map. PerfecT continues to win in isolation, building a 1k gold lead and turning the gold in KT’s favor. KT tries to do Baron with two players, but they are spotted. The ensuing fight is messy, but KT emerges on top thanks to PerfecT. PerfecT is pivotal for KT in the rest of the game. He carries a fight without Aiming and then pulls the trigger on KT’s Baron push to end the game.

Game Two – A Messy Conclusion

Game two featured the latest First Blood kill of the LCK regular season. After that, kill KT took control of the game. DNS had one successful dive onto PerfecT, but they were still behind. The mid-game became messy for KT despite their significant gold lead. Their engagements were uncoordinated, and DNS punished them for it. However, the mistakes were significant enough for DNS to complete the comeback.

FearX Versus T1

Game One – Nexus to Nexus to Nexus

No team can pull significantly ahead in this game. Whenever one team looks to run away with it, the other responds. Doran dies multiple times, and that creates problems for T1. Doran is still effective, but Clear becomes immovable. BFX takes Baron, despite a shaky fight, and they seem primed to win. Faker and Oner catch Taeyoon, and they win the fight to deny Hextech Soul. T1 catches the BFX bot lane and Raptor in the mid-lane to set up for an end. They fail as BFX defends long enough. BFX tries for their end, but they also fail, and Faker teleports into BFX’s base and ends the game.

Game Two – Winning Through Bot Lane

BFX can dominate the game if T1 does not punish Taeeyon and Kellin. Oner, Peyz, and Keria do that in the early game. Taeyoon is not allowed to play the early game. Peyz gets a significant gold lead, even with a couple of deaths of his own. He becomes the focus of the rest of the game. T1 wants to keep him, and BFX wants to kill him. Peyz’s lead allows T1 to secure a 21-minute Baron. With the rest of T1 having a lead, BFX can not even kill Peyz once in the mid-game.

Champions Played

FearX

  • Clear – K’Sante, Gwen
  • Raptor – Wukong, Pantheon
  • VicLa – Ryze, Viktor
  • Taeyoon – Ezreal, Caitlyn
  • Kellin – Neeko, Karma

T1

  • Doran – Rumble, Sion
  • Oner – Nocturne, Vi
  • Faker – Anivia, Azir
  • Peyz, Jhin, Mel
  • Keria – Bard, Nautilus

DN SOOPers End Without A Series Victory

The last time DNS won a series in the LCK was their first match of the regular season. It has been downhill for a roster that could not figure out who its core players are. The roster is in shambles at the moment. They have the players to turn it around. We saw their performance in the LCK Cup. Hopefully, they return stronger in the second half of the season.

T1 Secure Top Two

T1 can never win a series cleanly. They always find ways to make their matches look closer than they should be. That was the case in game one. They never took advantage of their leads and nearly lost trying to end the game. Fortunately, they got the win and now have second place secured. There is a chance they get first place if HANJIN BRION upsets Hanwha Life Esports.
