LCK 2026 Road to MSI HLE Versus T1 – A Titanic Battle for an MSI Spot
Hanwha Life Esports and T1 battle for a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational. One of those teams will represent the LCK on the international stage. T1 took HLE’s spot last year, but now both teams have a chance to play in front of their home crowds. HLE has the edge in series score, but do they have the edge on the day?
Hanwha Life Esports Versus T1 Records and Match History

HLE sits atop the standings of the LCK regular season with a 15-3 record. They nearly lost the lead at the end, but managed to win their final series. T1 follows them closely with a 14-4 record. The two teams have met three times in 2026. T1 has the upper advantage with a 2-1 series record. HLE won their previous meeting 2-1, which was also T1’s last series loss in the LCK regular season.
Featured Matchup
Kanavi Versus Oner
You could pick any matchup in this series for the featured one. However, Kanavi and Oner have been pivotal parts of their team’s success. HLE live or die by Kanavi’s aggression. He will always go in, and the rest of HLE follow. Oner is less impactful on T1’s playstyle, but he holds the glue together. T1 struggles the most when Oner can not impact his lanes and falls behind early. The jungler who gets to the bot lane first could decide the result of the game.
Keria, as the X Factor
In two teams filled with World Champions, Keria stands out as the X factor. He is often the player who finds the angle that no one can. He is always a pain point in drafts. Can you afford to let him play Bard, Lux, Pyke, and much more? He played Bard once in the regular season, but he warped the game around him. He has done that on Pyke as well. Peyz’s ability to play solo also enables Keria to roam around the map. His opponent on the other side, Delight, has struggled to match Keria’s impact. Can HLE keep Keria quiet, or will he run the map and the series?
Multiple World Champions
Only three players between the two rosters have never won the World Championship. Of the seven that have, six did it with T1. Gumayusi faces T1 for the first time in a best-of-five series since leaving the roster at the end of 2025. There is a wealth of experience on both rosters to draw from. Two of the three non-Worlds winners, Peyz and Kanavi, have earned themselves a Mid-season Inviational title. Every player has the clutch factor, but who will be the one to find the angle?
Hanwha Life Esports Versus T1 Prediction
Prediction: T1 3-2
Calling the victor of this series is difficult. Either team could take it. However, the edge has to go to T1, despite the standings and recent meeting between the teams. HLE has been on a downward turn at the end of the regular season, even substituting Delight out. HLE is not as formidable as they were during most of the regular season. T1, on the other hand, hit their stride and, when at their best, looked untouchable. However, it has been two weeks since they last played, and anything could happen.
An MSI Ticket Up for Grabs

The winner of the series will qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational. They will also book their ticket to the Bracket Stage of the competition. The loser will drop down to the final match. There, they will face the winner of the series between Gen.G Esports and KT Rolster. The winner of that match will start MSI in the Play-Ins stage.
