Worlds 2026 Details: All You Need to Know For Crowing Jewel of LoL Esports
It feels like yesterday that Faker and T1 lifted their third consecutive Worlds title. However, a year has almost passed, and Worlds 2026 is fast approaching. In less than a month, the crowning League of Legends event will take place in North America. Sixteen of the nineteen teams have booked their ticket. Only the LCS and CBLOL playoffs are ongoing.
Worlds 2026 Format
Play-Ins
The Play-In stage returns for 2026. Four teams will feature in the Play-Ins. The third seeds from the LEC, LCS, and LCP will join CBLOL’s second seed. The four teams will play in a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-five with Fearless draft. The bracket winner will advance to the Swiss Stage.

Swiss Stage
The final play-in team will join fifteen others in the Swiss Stage. The Swiss Stage format remains the same. Teams need three wins to qualify for the playoffs. Three losses eliminate them from contention. All qualification and elimination series are best-of-three. The rest are best-of-one. Each round will feature a draw to determine the matchups. Teams can not face each other twice in the Swiss Stage. The first round will not feature same-region matchups. The first round will have four pools. The following rounds will separate teams based on Swiss Stage records. Pool 1 teams will play Pool 4, and Pool 2 teams will play Pool 3. The Swiss Stage pools are as follows:

Knockout Stage
Eight teams will qualify from the Swiss Stage. A draw will determine the matches. Teams that went 3-0 in the Swiss Stage will face teams that finished 3-2. The other 3-2 team will join the three 3-1 teams in their own draw. The knockout stage is a single-elimination best-of-five bracket.
All Worlds 2026 Teams
Nineteen teams will feature at Worlds in North America. We know sixteen of those teams. With LCS and CBLOL playoffs ongoing, we await the final three teams. The teams locked into their seedings are:

Two teams have secured their spots from the LCS. Cloud9 and Team Liquid won their Upper-Bracket Semi-Final matches. They are at least top three in the LCS. FlyQuest and Shopify Rebellion will face off in the Lower Bracket Quarter- Finals. The winner will play against LYON. That series will determine the final LCS seed.
Four teams are left in contention for the two CBLOL seeds. LOUD and LOS are one series away from reaching the CBLOL Finals. Earning that berth will also book their Worlds ticket. FURIA and Red Canids battle in the Lower Bracket Semi-Final. The winner advances to face the loser of the Upper Bracket Final. Winning that series books the last Worlds ticket.
Worlds Venues
There are three venues for Worlds. The Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles, California, will host the Play-Ins Stage. The Play-Ins winner will join the other fifteen teams at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. The teams stay there for the Swiss Stage, Quarter-Finals, and Semi-Finals. The Grand Final will take place at the Barclays Center in New York City, New York.
