LCK 2026 Playoffs Gen.G Esports Versus Hanwha Life Esports Review: Gen.G Qualifies for the Grand Final
Gen.G Esports and Hanwha Life Esports fought for a spot in the LCK Grand Finals. Gen.G earned that berth with a convincing victory. HLE started strong but fell off as the series progressed. Gen.G qualifies for their tenth consecutive LCK final. They have won seven of them. Two of those losses were at the hands of HLE. HLE will face the winner of the Lower Bracket Semi-Final.
LCK 2026: Chovy’s Mistakes Give HLE a Route Back
Canyon carried the early-to-mid game. He put Gumayusi behind and forced his Summoner spells. He continued to pressure the map. The pressure gave Chovy and his bot lane space. Kanavi struggled to match the consistent impact.
Zeus kept the game close for HLE. A double kill pushed his lead to 1k. He was the vital member, with Kanavi earning picks on Kiin and Ruler.
After burning Chovy’s Realm Warp, they caught him in the mid-lane. Canyon died as well. That gave HLE the momentum to take Baron and deny the Cloud Soul.
HLE equalised the gold with the Baron. Ruler died alone in the next Cloud Soul fight. Gen.G had to give up the objective and Baron for the second time. Zeus kept Gen.G at bay on the Baron siege. The second Baron gave them their first gold lead.
Another pick on Chovy gave HLE the advantage to go for Baron. Gen.G tried to contest, but everyone died. HLE ended the game after the ace.
LCK 2026: Gen.G Scrape Through a Bloodbath
Kanavi started the game on the right foot. He picked up an early first-blood kill on Chovy. Chovy responded by helping Kiin in the top lane. Duro died twice to Kanavi, but the rest of his team struggled.
Zeus and Kiin teleported in for a fight around the second Drake. HLE was stuck in a choke point against an Equaliser and Purgatory. Gen.G won the fight and pushed their lead.
HLE fought back with an overload in the bot lane. They killed three members and the bot lane Tower. An extended messy fight ensued. Delight died, but HLE responded with two kills. Gen.G continued the play, killing Gumayusi, Kanavi, and Delight. Zeka and Zeus cleaned up the fight for a delayed ace.
HLE won another fight thanks to Kanavi’s Supreme Display of Talent. Canyon one-shot Gumayusi, but HLE went for Baron. They got the objective, but lost all their members.
Gen.G won back map control and earned a couple of kills on HLE’s face check. HLE denied the Infernal Soul but lost the fight and the Baron.
More chaos ensued as the teams battled for control. The teams traded kills. HLE came out ahead. They denied the Soul again and neutralized the gold lead.
Canyon stole the Infernal Soul and survived after killing Kanavi. The fight continues, but Gumayusi stands strong.
Canyon dies on HLE’s Blue Buff. HLE tries to end the game. They fail, allowing Chovy and Kiin to teleport into HLE’s base. Zeus tries to defend, but he dies, and Gen.G ends the game.
LCK 2026: Gen.G’s Teamfight Composition Reigns Supreme
HLE tries to snowball a top lane lead. The first attempts fail, but they eventually get two kills on Kiin. They further their lead through the side lanes. However, Gen.G leads in Drakes. HLE chooses to contest the third Drake. Zeus kills Ruler, but that is all they get. Canyon takes the Drake, and three HLE members die.
Gen.G picks off Zeus, and HLE arrives late. They lose two more members, which allows Gen.G to take Baron. A fight ensues after the Baron, ending as a 4-for-4. Only Chovy and Zeka are alive when the dust settles.
Gen.G earns the Cloud Soul thanks to Canyon’s smite and wins the fight on top of it.
Zeus saves the end after four HLE members die during Gen.G’s siege. He cleared the wave to stall the game. Gen.G ends the game after HLE does not defend the Baron push.
Zeka carries the early game. He gives up a wave to earn first blood on Duro. He then steals Duro’s Pop Blossom and carries the Drake fight. Fortunately for Gen.G, Canyon wins the smite battle. With the lead, HLE looks to invade Gen.G’s top side. The fight starts well, but all Gen.G members arrive.
Zeus can not lane into Varus and falls behind. Gen.G puts him further behind with a swap from Ruler and a dive from Canyon. HLE avoids fights to allow Zeus time to scale.
HLE comes alive in the fourth Drake fight. Even while behind, Zeus kills Kiin and helps Kanavi trade a 4-for-4. Delight dies in HLE’s jungle. Gen.G turns towards the Baron. They get the objective and win the fight. Gen.G ends the game with their siege.
