Overwatch Season 4 Hero Guide: Slicing Through Junker Queen’s Foes
The Overwatch roster is starting to settle. It is time to revisit the rest of the hero roster. Junker Queen is one of the best-designed tanks in Overwatch. She has plenty of skill expression. She can turn fights on a dime while having counterplay. If you want to take over games and slice your opponents in half, we have everything you need to learn Junker Queen.
Junker Queen’s Kit Breakdown and Tips

Adrenaline Rush – Heal from all damage over time dealt by wounds
Her passive is her best survival tool. The healing does not seem substantial at first. However, multiple stacks add up. Each ability applies one Wound stack to a character. Using the same ability on a character refreshes the Wound. Cleanses remove all Wound effects.
Scattergun – Pump-action shotgun.
For a Shotgun, Junker Queen’s Scattergun has decent range. You will not kill opponents at full health from medium range. However, it can chunk someone enough to set up a kill with Jagged Blade. Aiming at the upper half of a character’s body increases your damage effectiveness.
Jagged Blade – Active: Throw the blade. Reactivate it to pull it back with any impaled enemy. Passive: Wounds enemies hit by Quick Melee or Throw, dealing damage over time.
Junker Queen’s Quick Melee only applies Wound while holding Gracie. If you are close to an opponent, always use your Quick Melee. The Wound helps you stay alive. Landing direct Jagged Blade hits is the best way to secure kills. Wait until the target is close enough and pull them back to you. Always use Jagged Blade. Even if you miss the direct hit, tagging enemies will help.
Commanding Shout – Grants temporary health and movement speed to yourself and allies.
The best use for Commanding Shout is mid-fight. You get the most effectiveness out of the temporary health. Using it before fights leaves you vulnerable. Rather, use Jagged Blade or a speed boost from heroes like Juno or Lucio to close the gap. It can sometimes save teammates under threat.
Carnage – Wounds all enemies in front of you, dealing damage over time and reducing the cooldown for each enemy hit.
Carnage is your best source of healing and damage. If you get close to an opponent, use Carnage. Ideally, hit multiple targets for the damage, healing, and cooldown reduction. However, do not greed Carnage. While a Jagged Blade target moves towards you, activate Carnage. By the time they reach you, the swing is complete. You can move your camera to hit multiple targets.
Rampage – Charge forward. Wounds enemies, dealing damage over time and preventing healing.
Rampage is a fight-winning ultimate. Teams rarely group close enough to hit five targets. Hitting a couple will usually be enough to turn a fight. Be wary of any cleanse effects. Kiriko’s Protection Suzu is the best counter to Rampage. Never panic Rampage. It will lead to your death more often than not.

Slicing Your Opposition as Junker Queen

Jagged Blade As an Engage
One of the easiest ways to start a fight is with Jagged Blade. Landing a direct hit can shift a team fight in moments. Even forcing a tank into an uncomfortable position will work. Always use Jagged Blade first, before Commanding Shout. Why invest a longer cooldown when you can win a fight with a shorter one? Most of Junker Queen’s skill is on Jagged Blade. That does not mean you should only focus on direct hits. Aiming for a tank increases the success rate.
Natural Cover to Close the Gap
Especially when attacking, it takes time to get into position. Commanding Shout is better in mid-fight instead of rotations. Only use Commanding Shout for rotations if you get it back in time for the fight. Natural cover is your friend while rotating. Use it to minimize damage taken. While rotating, poke targets and throw Jagged Blade. Perhaps you land a direct hit on a crucial target.
