Round 2 Predictions

Top Esports Versus Anyone’s Legend
AL Win
TES were handed a heavy defeat in their first game. The visa issues have clearly impacted the roster. AL lost one teamfight to KC, and the game fell apart. The last time the teams met, TES won 2-1. However, much has changed since then. All the issues surrounding TES give AL the advantage.
CTBC Flying Oyster Versus Movistar KOI
MKOI Win
Two teams that surprised everyone in Round 1. MKOI had to beat BLG, while CFO dismantled a high-flying TL. It would be a classic MKOI to lose to CFO. That result can happen. CFO’s preparation helped them against TL. However, they have less than 24 hours to prepare this time. MKOI are the favorites, by a slight margin.
G2 Esports Versus LOS
G2 Win
Europe were moments away from a 3-0 day. One errant teamfight and G2 lost. LOS barely had a chance in their series. The defending World Champions shut them down in the first game. G2 should be easier, but they still are not the favorites.
LYON Versus Karmine Corp
KC Win
The game could go either way. Both teams had comfortable Round 1 victories. KC has had more time, and that should give them the edge. Both teams want to play for teamfights. The outcome will come down to who executes better in the pivotal fights.
Invictus Gaming Versus Team Secret Whales
IG Win
IG had the best showing of the LPL teams. They started well against Gen.G, by earning an early lead. However, that lead did not last as the LCK first seed took control. That gives them the advantage over TSW, who struggled in Round 1. They were second-best in their series. Both teams should have more room to express themselves.
Hanwha Life Esports Versus Gen.G Esports (Featured Match)
GEN Win
You can easily pick either team in this match. Both dominated in Round 1. Gen.G has the recent head-to-head advantage in the LCK. Both best-of-five series ended 3-1 in Gen.G’s favor. One aspect in HLE’s favor is that they won game one in both series. That could be a good omen for this matchup.
Dplus KIA Versus T1
T1 Win
Of the two teams, T1 looks more stable. Granted, the teams had different levels of opponents. DK had to claw their way back from a deficit. T1 controlled from start to finish. Historically, T1 beat DK, but this year has been different. Every time T1 is 1-0 in the Swiss Stage, they lose game two. They have never been in the 2-0 bracket.
Bilibili Gaming Versus Team Liquid
BLG Win
It was a mistake-ridden game for BLG and TL. Both teams saw their games go late, but neither closed out. BLG put themselves behind, while TL recovered from an early deficit. BLG has the higher improvement ceiling. However, that does not mean they are guaranteed to win.
