The Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage has delivered. But we are not done yet. Day 3 will have two teams qualify for the Bracket Stage. Europe and North America have one chance each to qualify early. But first, they must get past an LCK team. Movistar KOI will battle Dplus KIA, while LYON must topple Gen.G Esports. Those two series will take place in the second half. The best-of-one series will start the day. Hanwha Life Esports faces Invictus Gaming, followed by G2 Esports versus Top Esports.

Hanwha Life Esports Versus Invictus Gaming

HLE Win

IG got their first win on the board against Team Secret Whales. They got a chance to flex their muscles after losing to Gen.G on day one. They must now face the LCK second seed. HLE has not played as cleanly as Gen.G so far. They also lost to Gen.G yesterday. HLE are the favorites, but IG has shown positive signs.

G2 Esports Versus Top Esports (Featured Match)

G2 Win

Death, taxes, and G2 Versus TES. The two teams met at MSI. TES took a 2-0 lead, but G2 fought back to win 3-2. TES won the two meetings at Worlds last year. The first was in the Swiss Stage, and the second in the Quarterfinals. G2 should be favorites given the circumstances surrounding TES. However, they have not looked dominant, while TES played well against Anyone’s Legend.

Movistar KOI Versus Dplus KIA

Dplus KIA 2-1

DK has not been at their best until the final team fight of each game. They fell behind in both games. However, one dominant team fight allowed them to beat G2 and T1. MKOI has been solid. They have made a couple of minor mistakes. Ultimately, they got over the line against BLG. If MKOI keep up their form, they can beat DK. However, we do not expect them to have better early and mid games than G2 and T1. If DK’s late-game prowess continues to shine, MKOI might lose without winning a game.

Gen.G Esports Versus LYON

Gen.G Esports 2-0

Gen.G has looked unbeatable at Worlds so far. They made HLE look significantly weaker. LYON have not faced an LPL or LCK team yet. Their second win did come against a formidable opponent. They made a comeback against Karmine Corp. LYON relied on their teamfighting prowess, and it worked. Relying on that against Gen.G may prove to be a mistake. They are the best mid-to-late game team. Falling behind in laning against them is a death sentence. Very few teams can beat them from behind. Not even HLE could challenge them. LYON challenged Gen.G at First Stand, and they could achieve the same outcome again.
