MSI 2026 Team Review: FURIA Dealt a Terrible Hand They Could Not Beat
FURIA dominated their first “international” event of the year, dismantling the LCS. However, when they faced the first seed in the LCS, they could not get over the line. They got advantages, but could never find the crucial fight wins. They then had to face T1 in the Lower Bracket. They had chances to beat T1 but, once again, could not convert their leads.
FURIA MSI Results

FURIA did not win a game at MSI through two series.
- Lost 3-0 to LYON
- Lost 3-0 to T1
FURIA Player Review
Guigo
- Total Apex Rating – 4.2 (10th among top laners, 49th among players)
- Champions Played
- Sion (2)
- Ambessa
- Gnar
- Olaf
- Ornn
Guigo had an okay start to MSI. He was solid on Sion and Ambessa in the first series against LYON. However, he never made the crucial impact. The Olaf was rough, as he could never connect on carries. The series against T1 was a weaker overall performance, where Doran had the better of him throughout.
Tatu
- Total Apex Rating – 5.0 (10th among junglers, tied 39th among players)
- Champions Played
- Aatrox
- Lee Sin
- Naafiri
- Nasus
- Vi
- Xin Zhao
Tatu played a significant role in getting leads against both LYON and T1. However, he never converted them in the late game. His fight setups, target priority, and timings were not good enough to get them over the line. The only game where he struggled to stay afloat was game three against LYON. He mistimed his engagements and went for weird fights.
Tutsz
- Total Apex Rating – 5.0 (9th among mid laners, tied 39th among players
- Champions Played
- Aurora (2)
- Ryze (2)
- Ahri
- Sylas
Tutsz played exactly how he did in the regular season. He looked to push advantages in lane with help from his jungle and support. Unlike the regular season, he did not have as much success in taking down his opponents. The Aurora was solid in the mid-game in both series. However, he made mistakes that led to his team losing both games.
Ayu
- Total Apex Rating – 5.3 (6th among bot laners, tied 32nd among players)
- Champions Played
- Cassiopeia (2)
- Ezreal
- Jhin
- Lucian
- Senna
Despite FURIA’s results at MSI, Ayu was a shining light. With many expecting Tatu and Tutsz to be the carry, no one was looking at Ayu. He delivered strong performances, especially on Cassiopeia. His Jhin game also held them together against LYON. Ayu even held his own against Peyz and Keria, who played Caitlyn and Lux, and Kalista and Renata Glasc against him.
JoJo
- Total Apex Rating – 4.7
- Champions Played
- Rell (2)
- Bard
- Karma
- Milio
- Seraphine
JoJo had a rough time playing against Keria. He took the Bard away from the T1 support, but did not play well. The amount of missed Tempered Fates meant FURIA could not capitalize on a double ranged T1 bot lane. His Rell was surprisingly good against LYON, finding the crucial engagements they needed.
FURIA Team Review

Judging FURIA’s level after their two series is difficult. They kept up with both LYON and T1, but they missed the crucial final blow. If they played against Team Secret Whales or the other Play-In teams, we might have seen FURIA at their best. Their early and mid-games were decent. Tatu was good at challenging the enemy junglers. Considering he matched against Inspired and Oner, that is an impressive feat.
Ayu was the biggest surprise for this tournament. While some have noted Ayu is a good bot laner, not many expected him to be the best player. FURIA is on the right path, and they should have a better time at the World Championship. With more teams at the competition, they should face teams on a similar level.
