Three-Time World Champion Keria Re-signs with T1

Keria Re-signs for T1 until 2019

At T1’s last Home Ground, they announced that Faker had re-signed with T1 until 2029. With a Home Ground event this weekend, fans wondered if there would be another contract announcement. With the rest of the players having recently signed a contract, the expectation would be Keria. After T1 defeated FearX 2-0, they played a video at the Home Ground, announcing Keria’s contract extension until 2029.

Ryu “Keria” Min-seok’s original contract ended in November 2026. He signed the contract after ZOFGK’s second World Championship title. He has since won a third World Championship, albeit with a different top laner. Choi “Doran” Hyeon-jun replaced Choi “Zeus” Woo-je for 2025. He also saw his AD Carry partner-in-crime, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyung, leave at the end of 2025. Former Gen.G Esports AD Carry, Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan, took his place. It has been a struggle for T1 this year. They bowed out of the LCK Cup in fourth place and only had their first 2-0 LCK week this week. He picked up Player of the Match for both series this week. His new contract sees him signed until November 2029.

Keria’s Achievements

Since joining T1 in 2020, Keria has picked up multiple trophies. In six World Championship appearances, He has made the top four in 5 of them. All five came while playing on T1. He has made four World Championship finals, winning three of them. He is one of four players to have achieved that feat. Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun, Lee “Faker Sang-hyeok, and Gumayusi achieved it alongside Keria last year. He also has the LCK Spring 2022 trophy to his name. Unfortunately, more domestic titles, the Mid-Season Invitational, and First Stand have eluded him to this date. Keria lifted the inaugural Esports World Cup trophy in 2024.

Keria is unplayable at times. He has defined the Support meta on numerous occasions. Every time we have seen ranged supports in the meta, he has been the player to watch or fear. His Bard has drawn numerous bans, even when the champion is not dominant in the meta. His nickname is the Genius Monster for a reason. If you meet him on his day, you will likely leave embarrassed and defeated. He might not be the most consistent support, but he has the highest ceiling by far.

The Rest of The T1 Roster

With Keria re-signing, only one T1 player’s contract expires this year. Doran only signed a one-year contract following his first World Championship victory last year. He joins Faker with both players’ contracts ending in 2029. Oner and Peyz’s contracts will end in 2028. That guarantees T1 will have the core four for at least two more years. T1 is aiming for an unprecedented four-peat this year, amongst other domestic and international trophies. They have missed out on the LCK Cup and First Stand titles, but four more await. They have had a shaky start, but with Keria finding form, a potential MSI victory could be on the cards.

What is Next For T1 and Keria

Round 1 of the LCK regular season has almost ended. T1 will play their final match of the round next week, on Wednesday, against Nongshim Redforce. T1 currently sits tied in third place with Dplus KIA and Nongshim Redforce. The top six LCK teams will qualify for the Road to MSI. It is a playoff bracket to determine the two LCK participants at the second international of the year. Seeding will matter, with the top two teams needing one series victory to book their ticket. T1 will release Keria’s documentary, which is titled Carved: Genius, on May 3rd.
