In momentum from the huge Hall H presentation at last month’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel made its presence felt at the recent D23 event on Friday, Aug. 15. Disney had quite the night with so many movie and streaming announcements. However, Marvel had some big reveals during the showcase Friday night in Anaheim, California.
Marvel Reveals Details of “X-Men” Reboot

After a long and enduring wait, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shared details with the audience about the upcoming “X-Men” reboot, which is directed by “Thunderbolts*” filmmaker Jake Schreier. Adam Driver Confirmed To Make MCU Debut in “X-Men” Reboot
Driver said, in a statement obtained by Marvel, “When Kevin told me to show up for X-Men, I assumed he meant on set,” Driver said. “So instead of being there in California, I’m here at Pinewood Studios on this very lonely soundstage. Kevin and I have been talking for years about maybe joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And I think we finally found the perfect film at the perfect time. So I’m very excited to be playing Mag…. Nope. Even better. Nathaniel Milbury. So I’ll be right here, waiting for everybody to show up.”
Feige already confirmed that the “X-Men” reboot will be out after “Avengers: Secret Wars,” which is set to hit theaters on Dec. 17, 2027. He teased the timeline of the reboot in late 2024 when he said, per Murphy’s Multiverse, “The whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men. Again, it’s one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back.” Feige also revealed that there will be more casting for the “X-Men.” Marvel Studios’ “X-Men” reboot will hit theaters exclusively on May 5, 2028.
Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Doomsday” & More
We are a little past halfway through the year, and Dr. Doom will be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in four months. “Avengers: Doomsday” will be hitting theaters on Dec. 18, 2026, with Robert Downey Jr. taking on the role of Dr. Doom. He previously played Iron Man/Tony Stark when the MCU began and during the Infinity Saga. Isominac Games also made its presence felt with a new trailer for “Marvel’s Wolverine.”
In the game, Wolverine seeks closure and answers about his past, and it will be released on Sep. 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5. Feige and Walt Disney Imagineer Brent Strong shared updates on heroes coming to Disney Parks around the world. It started with a first look at the new things coming to the Avengers Campus at the Disneyland Resort: Stark Flight Lab and the Avengers Infinity Defense. Feige and Strong finished the presentation by unveiling the brand-new Avengers Research Testing Labs. Marvel also gave fans a look at “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 and the hit preschool series “Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends” will return for Season 7.

He opened up about the latest adventure from “Brand New Day.” Fans got another look at the movie and watched the scene where MJ (Zendaya) and Peter (Tom Holland) were building Legos together after returning to the apartment. Although Holland himself wasn’t able to join the panel, he began the Spider-Man presentation with a message.
