Three teams have earned a spot in the LCK post-season. Gen.G Esports and Hanwha Life Esports will feature in the playoffs, with both teams on course to start in Round 2. HANJIN BRION is the only team guaranteed a spot in the Play-Ins. Their win over KRX on the final day booked their ticket to a second successive post-season. T1’s collapse at their homestand puts their playoff spot in jeopardy.

One Talking Point for Each LCK Team

Gen.G Esports – Set for Playoff Domination

Gen.G got business down this week. Against two competitive foes in HLE and T1, they were undefeated. While the games had tense moments, Gen.G emerged victorious when it mattered. With Gen.G maintaining their form and the rest of the LCK struggling, they could be on a path for another undefeated playoff run.

Hanwha Life Esports – World Championship Guaranteed

After an errant start to the LCK, HLE has finally qualified for the playoffs. The qualification activates their World Championship ticket, which they earned through winning MSI. HLE has room to improve, and with Bluffing returning to the lineup, they are nowhere near their best.

T1 – Dropping Fast

After spending two weeks at the top of the LCK, T1 has fallen. Losses to Gen.G and DK this week have put them in a precarious position. One win would have secured them a playoff spot. However, they must wait until next week’s matches. Fortunately for them, if Gen.G continues their rich form and defeats KT, they will book their spot without playing a game.

Dplus KIA – The Dark Horses

DK showed that no one should underrate them. At any point, they can stand up to the best teams, even when playing in front of a large crowd. With DK performing when the lights shine bright, they could be the surprise package of the playoffs. They still need to qualify, but their form should push them over the line.

KT Rolster – Little to Celebrate

KT won their first two series since returning to the LCK. However, they are now on a four-series loss streak. They remain one series behind T1 and Dplus KIA. With their first match against Gen.G and no defined AD Carry starter, their chances look grim. However, KT always finds a win against an in-form Gen.G; could this be their chance?

HANJIN BRION – Play-In Bound

BRO can breathe a sigh of relief as they have qualified for the Play-Ins. They will still need to look for more wins to guarantee they finish in first place. Ideally, they want to dodge finishing in 3rd place to avoid the Legend Group team.

FearX – The Inconsistency Continues

For the third week in a row, BFX has finished with a 1-1 record. They are struggling to win series consistently. That will come back to bite them as they move towards the Play-Ins. Another 1-1 week will see them finish in a Play-Ins spot, with KRX currently two wins behind.

Nongshim Redforce – A Bounce Back?

NS had a strange week. After losing 2-1 to DNS, they comfortably defeated BRO 2-0. DNS is currently on a tear, and losing to them is not as bad as it once was. However, the loss to DNS means they will need to perform in the final week. Their first match is against KRX. A win in that series will lock the three Play-Ins spots.

KRX – Hope Dwindles

KRX must be perfect in the final week to stand a chance to qualify for the Play-Ins. Even then, there is a chance that KRX misses out on the post-season if other results do not go their way. A loss to NS will see their hopes dashed.

DN SOOPers – Sharvel Leading to Success

Since Sharvel joined DNS, they have looked like a different team. The addition of elimination has lifted the pressure from their shoulders. One wonders what would have happened if Sharvel had been playing on DNS for a longer period.
