Daily Devotional Monday Motivation | May 18, 2026
Happy Monday! It’s time for your daily devotional. Jesus used parables that were loaded with deep spiritual truths. In Matthew 13:44-51, He teaches three kingdom parables that compare the Kingdom of Heaven to three things: a treasure, a pearl, and a net. In today’s daily devotional, examine Jesus’ parables closely as they offer the knowledge and understanding you need to operate in the kingdom.
Hidden Treasure
In verse 44, Jesus says, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.” In this parable, something valuable is hidden in a large area of land. Jesus is the true Treasure, for in Him is life. Colossians 1:19 says that all fullness dwells in Him, and in 2:10, you are complete in Him.
In 2:3, Paul declares that in Christ, “are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” When you hide His word in your heart, it’s much more precious than rubies. In your daily devotional, discovering the treasure and unspeakable value of Christ enriches you in wisdom and righteousness.
Discover the Riches

Today, many don’t seek the riches of the kingdom because they’re focused on the field, judging it unworthy or unvaluable. The field represents the gospel, which has been watered down and filtered through wolves in sheep’s clothing and unfaithful, unaccountable leaders. who’ve harmed the gospel message. For instance, the scribes and Pharisees prevented others from entering because of their evil leadership.
Pastor, Teacher, and Missions Leader Joel Sims ministered in Finland and noticed huge, elaborate cathedrals and a soaring cross built when its people valued God’s presence in their country. However, today, those structures are museums with entrance fees. They’re empty because they’re no longer valued in society.
The man in the parable represents the natural meeting the supernatural and realizing that Christ is the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the valleys, and the Bright and morning star; nothing man has is more valuable. In this daily devotional, the gospel contains the rich treasure of Christ and eternal life.
Unmatched Value
When you discover this treasure, you protect it for its unmatched value. You won’t let go of it until you have made it your own. You won’t cast your pearls before swine or let fowls of the air steal them. You’ll sell everything you have and count it all as dung to gain Christ. Many place value in worldly things, but nothing compares to Christ. Worldly things endure for a moment, but Christ’s value is eternal. For Heaven and earth will pass away, but Jesus Christ, the Word of God, will never pass away.
Hebrews 12:1-2 says, “Lay aside every weight, and run with patience, looking unto Jesus. You must be willing to surrender all for Him. In your daily devotional, as the author and finisher of your faith, Jesus is your greatest treasure. Salvation is in Christ alone, and His name is the highest under Heaven given among men.
You are of Great Value to Christ
In Monday’s daily devotional, it can be argued that the church is of great value to Christ, as He was willing to give His life for it, coming all the way from Heaven to redeem it. It’s safe to say that as you value Christ, you realize you can’t live without Him, the True Treasure. In today’s daily devotional, to operate wisely in the kingdom, you must value Christ above all things.
