Team Liquid and G2 Esports faced elimination in the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage. The LPL first seed was already eliminated. Now, the LCS and LEC first seeds joined them. TL faltered against LOS, a team they should have beaten. G2 had to topple the Hanwha Life Esports mountain. They were not up to the occasion. HLE destroyed them to advance.

Team Liquid

  • Morgan (4.7) – Ambessa (3), Ornn (7), Gnar (4)
  • Josedeodo (5.7) – Nocturne (4), Xin Zhao (8), Sejuani (5)
  • Quid (4.0) – Sylas (3), Orianna (6), Viktor (3)
  • Yeon (4.7) – Ziggs (4), Lucian (5), Yunara (5)
  • CoreJJ (6.3) – Nautilus (5), Nami (8), Lulu (6)

LOS

  • Zest (5.0) – Jayce (6), Rumble (4), Tristana (5)
  • Curse (6.0 – Total Apex Player of the Series) – Trundle (8), Jarvan IV (4), Pantheon (6)
  • Feisty (6.0) – Syndra (7), Galio (5), Taliyah (6)
  • Duduhh 5.3) – Ashe (6), Ezreal (5), Kalista (5)
  • Ackerman (5.3) – Seraphine (6), Karma (5), Renata Glasc (5)

Summary

Curse started exceptionally well. He pushed both of his solo lanes ahead. TL fought back in the bot lane, but Curse kept LOS ahead. One errant topside play gave LOS the Baron. They extended their lead. Instead of forcing plays, they waited for the right moment. They let TL make mistakes and punished them. The dives from the LCS first seed failed. They never found a fight with all five members going in together. LOS increased their lead until it was insurmountable.

TL picked comfort for their bot lane. Yeon and CoreJJ showed why they want to play Lucian and Nami. A dive, followed by a 3v3 win, gave them an early lead. TL lost their way in the mid-game. Yeon went too far, and LOS dragged the game back. TL slowed it down. They waited in team fights, letting LOS walk in. The Soul went to TL, and their composition became unkillable. They won the Elder and Baron fights to end the game.

Game three was all about scaling versus dominant mid-game. LOS had to snowball the game before Yunara and Viktor came online. They did just that. The gold climbed through lane advantages. TL had to wait, giving up Drake after Drake. Eventually, LOS brought TL to the Infernal Soul. TL got back-to-back Drakes to stall. It almost ended after the second Soul fight. They did not have the wave to end. TL killed Ackerman and moved to Baron. Their time on the objective gave LOS the Infernal Soul. It came down to an Elder Drake fight. Josedeodo could not kill Duduhh, and the rest of the team crumbled.

The hope for G2 started well. Zeka lost flash at level 1. Kanavi and Delight appeared lost on the map. G2 was winning the skirmishes. Caps died on the Drake take, and the momentum shifted. HLE took control once Zeus entered the fray. He was unkillable in fights. Caps mispositioned in fights. He was the only threat to Zeus. HLE dominated the fights, and the gold lead grew exponentially. G2 killed Zeka in the final fight, but they lost everyone for it.

HLE kicked off the game with a dive on the G2 bot lane. SkewMond responded with a repeat gank on Zeus. BrokenBlade solo-killed Zeus after. The win condition was Gumayusi versus BrokenBlade. The gold stayed close. G2 pulled the trigger on Gumayusi in the mid lane. They finally killed him, but Zeus came alive. HLE crushed the Soul fight thanks to a smart teleport from Zeka. HLE pulled G2 to Baron. Zeka won the 1v3, setting HLE up for the win.
