For the first time in his career, Chovy advances to the Worlds Finals. It took 8 attempts, but he finally did it. They defeated Invictus Gaming 3-0 in the Worlds 2026 Semi-Finals. It will also be Kiin and Duro’s first Worlds Finals appearance. Gen.G dominated most of the series. They will await the winner of Bilibili Gaming and T1 for their Grand Final opponent.
Worlds 2026: Series Summary

IG only have themselves to blame for the series loss. They failed to execute dives in the first two games. Both failed dives led to a snowball. They fought back, but the writing was always on the wall. Game three was better. Wei kept Canyon quiet. The initial dives were successful. Despite their lead, it always felt shaky. Mistakes from various members kept Gen.G alive. Then Canyon denied the Mountain Soul. Ruler had another Ruler on mid moment, and the pendulum swung again. IG earned Mountain Soul. JiaQi’s mistake lost the series. He buffered the Nautilus hook, but E’d in instead of away.
Player Ratings

Gen.G Esports
Kiin – 7.7
- Olaf (8), Gwen (8), Camille (7)
Kiin with an advantage is monstrous. He blundered the early game on Olaf. Canyon bailed him out, and eventually he built a lead. He stood strong in the first two games. He was quieter in game three due to the game state. But even then, he was impactful in late-game fights.
Canyon – 8.3 (Total Apex Player of the Series)
- Qiyana (9), Lee Sin (9), Wukong (7)
Perhaps Canyon’s best series since winning Worlds in 2021. He outplayed Wei in the first two games. He pushed Gen.G’s leads. Game three was even more impressive. With less control, he remained impactful. Even Cyclone got value, and he denied the Mountain Soul. Canyon was not losing again.
Chovy – 7.3
- Cassiopeia (7), Ahri (8), Taliyah (7)
In recent Worlds semis, Chovy had to shoulder the responsibility. This year was different. His team stepped up around him. All he needed to do was play stable. And he did. He had one shaky face-check in game three. Even against Rookie’s Locke, he kept looking for plays. Chovy did everything his team needed.
Ruler – 7.7
- Jhin (8), Ashe (8), Yunara (7)
Ruler’s dive outplay in game two afforded Gen.G the snowball. He had an excellent performance. The only concern was his deaths in the Ruler spot. They finally got a lead in game three. Ruler greedily went for a wave, died, and lost his Guardian Angel. Despite that mistake, he regained his composure.
Duro – 7.7
- Leona (8), Seraphine (7), Nautilus (8)
Duro needed to step up in the series. He was the weakest player in their win over LYON. The nerves did not affect him. He had multiple saves on his teammates. He was the main reason they stayed close in game three. Every time they needed a pick, he landed the hook.
Invictus Gaming
TheShy – 4.7
- Kled (3), Rumble (5), Gnar (6)
TheShy blundered multiple times on Kled. The top dive was rushed. Most of his ultimate engages missed. He played better for the rest of the series. He, alongside Rookie, gave them hope in game two. He held a lead in game three, but then made one mistake around the Baron.
Wei – 3.3
- Vi (2), Nocturne (2), Naafiri (6)
Wei’s Flash on Canyon was a massive mistake. His lack of Flash on the dive meant he died to Canyon. He could not keep up with Canyon in the first two games. He kept forcing plays, and they failed. He had the early advantage in game three thanks to the jungle matchup. He missed the Smite to earn Mountain Soul, giving Gen.G a route back into the game.
Rookie – 5.3
- Syndra (5), Sylas (5), Locke (6)
Rookie was the best-performing IG member in the series. The first two games snowballed before he could impact the map. He tried his best on Sylas, finding angles to carry. He snowballed as Locke. IG needed to keep the pressure up, but mistakes reduced Rookie’s value.
JiaQi – 4.3
- Xayah (5), Lucian (4), Ezreal (4)
Everyone will remember JiaQi’s mid lane mistake. The misdirected Arcane Shift was disastrous. The series ended as a result. He had a decent series overall. Unfortunately, most will remember that mistake instead of his rise during the tournament.
Meiko -4.0
- Rakan (3), Milio (4), Alistar (5)
IG being behind in game one meant Meiko kept dying in his engages. He was more impressive on Alistar. He was key in most fights. However, IG’s mistakes and indecisiveness put him in the firing line. He was always the first target in fights.
