Worlds 2026 Semi-Finals 2 Preview: Can BLG End T1’s Reign of Terror?

T1 is 14-0 against the LPL in Bo5s at Worlds. Bilibili Gaming is one of those wins. They met in the Worlds 2024 Grand Finals. T1 won 3-2. They meet again in the Worlds 2026 Semi-Finals. Will the defending champions keep their undefeated record against the LPL? Or will BLG defeat China’s biggest adversary? Will Faker or Knight face Chovy in his first Worlds finals?

Worlds 2026: Player Head-to-Head

Top Lane – Bin Versus Doran

Bin mentioned during MSI that Doran’s performance was subpar. He followed those comments by defeating Doran. However, the series was not about either of them. Bin is reaching his peak again. Doran struggled in the quarterfinals. Bin should be favored in the matchup, but the series may not be about them.

Jungle – XUN Versus Oner

Oner has not reached Worlds form yet. His impact is not the same as in previous years. But we all know what Oner can do when the lights shine bright. He has to perform; otherwise, XUN will dominate. XUN is one of the best junglers at capitalizing on his opponents’ mistakes. He smells blood and instantly pulls the trigger.

Mid Lane – Knight Versus Faker

Knight is the greatest Chinese mid-laner of all time. But he has not won Worlds. Both times he was the favorite, Faker denied him. Faker clutched against him in 2023 and 2024. Knight has another chance to defeat him. Can the Golden Left Hand finally best Faker at Worlds? On paper, he can, but Faker at Worlds is another beast.

Bot Lane – Viper Versus Peyz

Peyz was explosive against Karmine Corp. He finally arrived on the international stage. He is their win condition. Viper can not afford to let him dominate the series. Viper is in dominant form on his own. Since the loss to Top Esports, he has been on a tear. He outplayed both Gumayusi and Smash in their last two series.

Support – ON Versus Keria (Featured Matchup)

It is rare for the support matchup to have so much weight. But whenever Keria is in a series, the support role changes. ON is the only support who can match Keria’s explosiveness. But he can make mistakes. He pushes the limits, and teams have punished him in the past. ON must be at his peak to match Keria.

Predictions

Bilibili Gaming 2-3 T1

You can predict either team in this series. Recent performances favor BLG. They destroyed Hanwha Life Esports and Dplus KIA. T1 struggled against Movistar KOI and Karmine Corp. They are weaker opponents on paper. However, it is T1 at Worlds. They have never lost to the LPL. They can always level up. They can always clutch the vital moments.

Mentally, LPL’s losses will play a part. If they fail to convert a game, what happens? Viper has already mentioned the team’s struggles mentally. They lost the series to Top Esports because of it. They were never behind against HLE or DK. There is a high chance that this series goes longer than three games. If they can not handle the pressure, we might see T1 run away with the series.

Chovy and Gen.G Waiting in the Grand Finals

The Grand Finals take place in six days. Gen.G Esports has already qualified. They defeated Invictus Gaming 3-0 in a mostly one-sided series. Faker or Knight will challenge Chovy in the Grand Finals. Regardless of the result, the storyline is building. Either it is the first time T1 loses to the LPL. Or they continue their dominance over China. Then it is either Knight Versus Chovy for their first Worlds title, or Chovy ascending above Faker. BLG has eliminated two LCK teams so far. They will need to beat all four to lift the trophy.
