“Saturday Night Live” has locked in its SNL November hosts, with comedian and content creator Druski taking the stage Nov. 7 and John Mulaney returning Nov. 14, according to Variety.
The Strokes will serve as musical guest for Druski’s episode, while Phoebe Bridgers will perform the week Mulaney hosts.
What was announced
Druski, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, is set to become the first digital content creator to host SNL, Variety reported. The Strokes will join him as musical guest, marking the band’s fifth appearance in that role. The band is on tour behind its seventh studio album, “Reality Awaits,” which arrived in June.
One week later, Mulaney returns to host for the seventh time in his career. Bridgers will perform as musical guest that night, her third time in the role and her second as a solo artist. She made her SNL debut in 2021 and later returned alongside boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. She is touring in support of “Lost Weekend,” her first solo album since 2020’s “Punisher,” released in August.
What it means for fans
Druski’s hosting gig arrives ahead of the December release of “Collect & Praise,” a semi-scripted comedy series co-starring Mike Epps that grew out of his viral megachurch sketch. The show will stream on Netflix and YouTube, giving Druski a high-profile platform just weeks before it premieres.
Mulaney‘s return continues his long-running relationship with Studio 8H. Before becoming one of the show’s most frequent hosts, he spent four seasons, from 2008 to 2012, writing for SNL. His episode lands four days before “Madden,” David O. Russell’s John Madden biopic, starts streaming Nov. 18 on Prime Video. Mulaney plays Electronic Arts founder Trip Hawkins in the film. He’s also on the road with his stand-up tour, “Mister Whatever.”
What’s next
Druski’s episode airs Nov. 7 and Mulaney’s airs Nov. 14. Both episodes air live at 11:30 p.m. EST on NBC and stream on Peacock.
