2 Heroes Reworked Again in Overwatch: Sombra Becomes a Support
Sombra and Roadhog mains have endured many adjustments to their Overwatch heroes. They will face more changes in the upcoming season. Sombra is becoming a support hero for the first time. Roadhog will remain a tank, but he is getting a Defence Matrix-adjacent ability and has a different primary fire. Players at BlizzCon have already gotten their hands on the reworks to Sombra and Roadhog. Here is everything you need to know about the to reworks.
Sombra’s Support Kit Breakdown

She maintains her Primary Fire, Translocator, and EMP. The rest of her kit is built towards being a Support Hero. She can only heal through Hotfix and Cyberspace. Taking damage during Hotfix no longer interrupts the ability.
Tactician – Subrole Passive (New)
Store excess Ultimate charge.
Conspirator – Passive
Fully charged ultimates are revealed to you.
Machine Pistol – Primary Fire
Short-range automatic weapon.
Hotfix – Secondary Fire (New)
Heal an ally over time for a set amount of health. Can also freely hack health packs and most enemy deployables.
Cyberspace – Ability 1 (New)
Launch a projectile that explodes on impact, creating a zone that weakens enemies and heals allies.
Translocator – Ability 2
Throw a beacon and teleport to it. Become stealthed for a short duration after teleporting.
EMP – Ultimate
Deal damage to all nearby enemies equal to a percentage of their current health, hacking them and destroying barriers around you.
Life Hack – Minor Perk (New)
EMP applies Hotfix to nearby allies.
CTRL ALT ESC – Minor Perk
Teleporting with Translocator while below half health initiates passive health regeneration.
Data Packet – Major Perk (New)
Hacking health packs with Hotfix reduces its main cooldown by 4 seconds.
Cybersecurity – Major Perk (New)
Cyberspace’s healing is doubled on allies below half health.
Roadhog’s Reworked Kit Breakdown

His new ability, Trash Compactor, allows him to absorb projectiles. It gives him some counterplay to abilities that have plagued him. He has lost his guaranteed one-shot combo. Take a Breather is the same, but grants more burst healing and a lower damage reduction.
Bruiser – Subrole Passive
Gain resistance to critical hits. Move faster while below half health.
Tank – Role Passive
Less ultimate charge is given by healing and damage received. Increases base health in Role Queue modes.
Scrap Gun – Primary Fire (Adjusted)
Short-range shotgun that fires in two bursts.
Trash Compactor – Secondary Fire (New)
Absorb enemy projectiles, compacting them into an explosive ball of scrap.
Chain Hook – Ability 1
Drag a targeted enemy towards you.
Take a Breather – Ability 2 (Adjusted Values)
Heal yourself and reduce damage taken.
Whole Hog – Ultimate
Damage and knock back enemies in front of you.
Scrap Hook – Minor Perk (Adjusted Values)
Chain Hook hits reload 4 ammo.
Here, Piggy Piggy – Minor Perk (New)
During Whole Hog, Chain Hook’s cooldown is reduced by 80%.
Hogdrogen Exposure – Major Perk
Take a Breather also heals nearby allies for 50% of its healing.
Toxic Exhaust – Major Perk (New)
Enemies in front of Roadhog while Trash Compactor is active are slowed by 30% and take 20 damage per second.
Reworks Available
Some have already gotten their hands on the two reworks at BlizzCon. For the rest of us, we will need to wait until Season 5’s release. The season releases on October 6th. Doctrine will also join the cast when Season 5 releases in less than a month.
