LCK 2026 Round 4 Day 18 Recap: KT’s Loss Sees them Eliminated From the Playoffs Momentarily
KT Rolster needed to beat T1 in their final LCK Regular Season series to have a chance at the playoffs. They missed that opportunity and will start in the Upper Bracket of the Play-Ins. FearX’s win over HANJIN BRION in the first series of the day gives them a chance to finish first in the Legend Group. If BFX beat Nongshim Redforce on Sunday, they will join KT in the Upper Bracket.
FearX Keep First Place in Their Sights
BFX needed to beat BRO to keep their first-place chances alive. The series was shaky as they fell behind early in game one and gave up their lead in game two. The first two games were plagued with mistakes and misplays from both teams. Each team should have won the games they led. They failed to convert, but ultimately the series went to game three.
BFX surged to a lead through superior skirmishing and teamfighting in the mid-game. The lead seemed insurmountable for BRO. They had one successful play in the top side of the map, but that barely scratched the gold lead. BFX slammed the door in BRO’s face. BRO will need Nongshim Redforce to beat BFX on Sunday to maintain first place.

KT Rolster Relegated to Play-Ins
KT needed to break their series loss streak to have a chance at the playoffs. They started in the best way possible with a relatively comfortable victory thanks to Bdd’s Ryze. The mid laner was unmatched, hitting level 18 before everyone in the game. T1 battled back in game with an unorthodox draft. After picking Taliyah early, they gave it to Peyz, while Faker took Rumble and Doran got the Vayne counterpick. The switcharound worked as T1 executed near flawlessly in the mid-game to take the win.
Then, with the scaling draft, T1 weathered the storm. Even with PerfecT significantly ahead of Doran, KT could not find the angle to snowball. Peyz hit four items, and it became impossible for KT to teamfight. They did not have the gold to beat T1’s scaling. The victory keeps T1 in the hunt for a Round 2 spot. Unfortunately for KT, they will finish in 5th place in the Regular Season, relegating them to the Play-Ins.

All LCK Postseason Spots Locked
With Dplus KIA locked for the playoffs, the postseason is locked. All that is left is the seedings for the teams. KT, Gen.G Esports, Dplus KIA, and Nongshim Redforce know where they will be when the postseason starts. KT will face either BFX or BRO in the first round of the Play-Ins. NS will face the team that finishes second in the Rise Group.
As for the LCK Legend Group, Gen.G is the only team starting in Round 2 of the playoffs. T1 can join them in Round 2 if they beat Hanwha Life Esports on Sunday. HLE could finish in first place if Gen.G loses to DK and they beat T1. DK can not finish higher than fourth place in the Legend Group.
