Daily Devotional Friday Faith | July 3, 2026
Happy Friday! It’s time for your daily devotional. The Bible is rich with instruction and guidance. Your mind must be developed or renewed spiritually so that your thoughts, beliefs, and actions align with God’s Word. In today’s daily devotional, your spirit and mind are separate, but your mind has a spirit of its own.
Your Hope is in Jesus
In Ephesians 4, Paul teaches on the importance of having right relationships with others. He says you’re to keep the unity of the faith, for there’s one body and one hope of your calling. Your hope is in Jesus Christ. Paul admonishes you to be mature and “not carried away with every wind of doctrine.” You’re to study God’s word and walk in truth.
Speak the truth in love and put on the new man. Leave behind your old lifestyle before salvation. In your daily devotional, your mind was once misaligned with God’s Word, but now His Word is your guide.
You Have a New Life
In verse 22, Paul calls the old lifestyle corrupt. It was a deceitful lifestyle because you lived in unrighteousness, and while you thought you were alive in every sense of the word, you were spiritually dead and in need of salvation. You lusted or craved things that took you further into spiritual darkness. You were led by worldly expectations and by the enemy’s evil at work in your life.
But now that you’re in Christ, you have a new way of living. In this daily devotional, you now live free to walk in righteousness and holiness, which is what you were created for.
Your Mind Has a Spirit

In verse 23, Paul says, “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” Your mind has a spirit that results from your renewed mind. The Amplified Classic Bible calls it “a fresh mental and spiritual attitude.” In other words, it’s a new mindset. You no longer crave the world’s allurements. You’re not tempted by unrighteousness. You speak truth with your neighbor, recognizing that you are “members one of another.”
You’re not driven by anger, nor do you continue in ungodly practices. If you were a thief, you no longer steal. You watch your words by disallowing corrupt speech and use your words to edify rather than disparage. In your daily devotional, as a believer, you have a new outlook focused on the things of God.
Don’t Grieve the Holy Spirit
Without the right spiritual attitude, there’s no way to live righteously. For example, the scribes and Pharisees knew the law of Moses and taught in the synagogue, but their hearts and minds were unchanged. Therefore, Jesus condemned their hypocrisy. However, when your heart is changed and your mind is renewed, you keep God’s word.
In verse 30, Paul says you’re not to grieve the Holy Spirit, whereby you’re sealed until the day of redemption. When people are outside of Christ, they live for themselves or other people; they don’t think about grieving God. In this daily devotional, your priority as a believer is to please God in both your behavior and your thought life.
You’re Renewed in the Spirit of Your Mind
In Friday’s daily devotional, you’re called to kindness, tenderheartedness, and forgiveness. These are characteristics of those who’ve had a spiritual mind renewal. Your viewpoint has changed, and your life is headed in a new direction. Others may not understand this change. They may question it and wonder if it’s real. However, in today’s daily devotional, you’re to walk with a mindset renewed with a newness of spirit.
