Happy Monday! It’s time for your daily devotional. It’s been said that the mind is a terrible thing to waste. That’s true, and not just educationally. Your mind and spirit are separate, but they must be aligned to serve God rightly. A preacher once said, “Don’t lose your mind; you’re going to need it!” In today’s daily devotional, God wants you to agree with His word and change your life.

God is Good

In 2 Timothy 1:7, Paul states, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Fear is a spirit, and it’s a negative one. Therefore, it doesn’t originate with God. It’s misguided to blame God for the negativity you face in life. It’s shifting all responsibility onto God, giving you a victim mentality.

God is good. He is also righteous, pure, and holy. Therefore, He is not to be blamed for bad things. In your daily devotional, God invites you to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report.

Receive From God

Paul doesn’t just put these words together in Philippians 4:8 to sound spiritual. The Holy Spirit offers you a way of thinking that aligns your thoughts with God’s, so you can receive all He has for you. Your thought life plays a big role in your spirituality. Your thoughts affect your beliefs, your beliefs affect your words, and your words affect your behavior.

If you entertain evil thoughts, then negativity flows into your life. And it affects how you receive from God. In this daily devotional, as a believer, you are to come up higher in your thought life. God gives you a choice in Deuteronomy 10:19: “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life.” The choice is yours.

Examine Your Thought Life

God so wants you to make the right choice that He tells you which one to choose. When you choose to align your thoughts with God’s word, then God’s goodness has an unhindered flow into your life. When you think wrong thoughts, you short-circuit what God wants to do for you. So, rather than blame God for bad things, examine your thought life. Often, it may be the culprit. In your daily devotional, one bad thought can lead to a pattern of thinking that leads you away from God’s best.

Free of Wrong Thoughts

So how do you keep from thinking wrong thoughts? Refuse them. When wrong thoughts invade your mind, acknowledge they’re not your thoughts. The enemy is the author of evil and loves to bombard your mind with wrong thinking, so bind him. Reject his thoughts. He will try to make you think they originated with you, but you’re a new creation.

You must replace bad thoughts with good ones. Think on what God says in His word. Speak it out loud. For instance, when the enemy says, “You won’t make it,” you say, “I’m more than a conqueror.” When he says, “You’re sick,” you say, “By His stripes, I’m healed.” In this daily devotional, disciplining your mind is key to keeping your mind free of wrong thoughts.

Renew Your Mind to the Things of God

In Monday’s daily devotional, as a believer, you have a new nature. However, your mind must be renewed to the things of God. Although it’s a process, you’re authorized to bind the devil and send him packing. In today’s daily devotional, when your mind’s in alignment with God’s word, you agree and receive God’s best
