Happy Friday! It’s time for your daily devotional. Healing is a welcome gift when you receive it. If you had to choose between being sick or well, you’d surely choose well. Many crowds came to Jesus for healing, but He also healed people individually in small settings. In today’s daily devotional, it doesn’t matter how you receive your healing, as long as you do.
Let Faith Lead You
After spending time in Galilee, Jesus returned to Cana, where He turned water into wine. Hearing of Jesus’s fame, a nobleman arrives and looks for Him there. Upon finding Jesus, he told Him his son was sick and desired Him to come and heal him. Without crowds or fanfare, Jesus tells him, “Go thy way; thy son liveth.”
The man’s faith rises, and he departs believing Jesus’ word. As he was traveling home, his servants met him with news of his son’s healing. It happened at the same hour Jesus spoke the word concerning him. In your daily devotional, Jesus’ fame may lead you to Him, but let it leave you with faith.
Jesus is Your Source
On the Sabbath, Jesus went to Jerusalem. He had grown up going to the temple, and it was still His custom. In John 5, Jesus was at the pool of Bethesda, where five porches were filled with people needing healing, waiting for the water to stir. They were impotent, lame, blind, and withered.
Each person needed a miracle and believed that when an angel troubled the water, whoever stepped in first would be healed. In this daily devotional, Jesus is your Source of healing. There’s a popular song titled “Healer in the House.” When Jesus walks in, healing is in the house.
Trust the Healer

Jesus noticed a man who’d been there thirty-eight years. When Jesus notices, things change. When Jesus heard Bartimaeus calling Him, He stopped. And Bartimaeus’ life was never the same because his darkness was turned to light. When Jesus sees the man lying at the pool, He asks, “Wilt thou be made whole?” This seems like a strange question. Who wouldn’t want to be healed? All that gathered at the pool sought healing.
However, the man doesn’t answer Jesus’ question directly. Instead of saying, “Yes, I want wholeness!” he gives excuses: no one’s there to put him in the water, and others step in before him. In your daily devotional, don’t be limited by what other people do or don’t do. Trust the Healer to heal your body.
Take Up Thy Bed
Jesus says, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.” Without hesitation or help standing, he takes up his bed and starts walking. He’s completely whole. For thirty-eight years, he suffered and saw others being healed while he languished. His condition worsened for almost four decades. He watched his hope trickle away slowly year after year; therefore, he could only give Jesus excuses as to why he wasn’t healed.
However, he didn’t need stirring waters or an angel. He only needed Jesus. Jesus was the “angel” he sought and the One who stirs the healing waters. Concerning the Sabbath, Jesus says, “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” In this daily devotional, Jesus is the Healer, no matter what day.
You Can Be Made Whole
In Friday’s daily devotional, Jesus’ healing power makes you whole. And He’ll meet you wherever you are. Jesus didn’t touch the man at the pool, ask for an offering, or wave His hand over him. He just spoke as He did with the nobleman’s son, without fanfare or show. In today’s daily devotional, it doesn’t matter how you receive healing, as long as you do.
