Who plays whom in the Trial of Louise Woodward cast
According to Deadline, Reynor plays Gerry Leone, the lead prosecutor, and Magaro plays defense lawyer Barry Scheck. Dyer plays Middlesex County assistant district attorney Ada Lynn Rooney. Deadline was the only outlet we found that listed those three roles.
They join a Trial of Louise Woodward cast that already included Hugh Laurie as Judge Hiller B. Zobel, who presided over the trial. Joanne Froggatt plays Louise’s mother, Susan. Meghann Fahy and Sagar Radia play Deborah and Sunil Eappen, the parents of the infant, and Chloë Sevigny plays defense attorney Elaine Whitfield Sharp, ComingSoon reported. Catriona Chandler stars as Woodward.
The real case behind the series
In 1997, Woodward, then an 18-year-old British au pair, stood trial in Massachusetts over the death of 8-month-old Matthew Eappen of Newton, according to The Boston Globe. A jury convicted her of second-degree murder. Zobel then reduced the verdict to involuntary manslaughter and sentenced her to time served, about 279 days.
Barry has said the case raised questions about childcare, working mothers, class and the rise of 24-hour media coverage, issues he calls more relevant than ever.

Susanne Bier directs every episode, and Barry serves as writer and executive producer. HBO says filming began in August, with a release planned for 2027 and no date announced yet.
