The My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis anime is officially on the way. Kadokawa announced Saturday that Toshimichi Uzō’s light novel series is getting a TV anime, according to Anime News Network.
The news came with a teaser trailer during the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026 livestream, per other coverage. No premiere date, voice cast or streaming platform has been confirmed.
Staff and studio for the My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis anime
Studio Ankichi Kobo is producing the series. Atsushi Nigorikawa, known for directing “A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring,” is directing the anime, according to ANN and OtakuPT.
Keiichirō Ōchi, whose credits include “The Quintessential Quintuplets,” is overseeing the scripts. Yūki Nakano, who designed characters for “I’m Quitting Heroing,” is handling character designs.
What the story is about
The series follows former rivals Rōshi and Ritsuka Saikawa, who once belonged to opposing organizations. They fall in love after those organizations disband and eventually marry, but the couple has never been intimate, which creates tension in their relationship, per Wikipedia.
Other outlets describe the setup as a romantic comedy about two former superpowered warriors who spent years in constant duels and schemes before becoming newlyweds. The Japanese title is “Soshiki no Shukuteki to Kekkon Shitara Mecha Amai.”
OtakuPT says the story balances romantic comedy with action as the couple navigates married life, old rivalries resurface and secrets emerge. That mix of domestic sweetness and leftover conflict is the core hook the My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis anime will need to translate to the screen.
One Peace Books describes the manga as full of humor, heart and sizzling chemistry, and it blends domestic comedy with romantic tension. Publishers and outlets alike are leaning on the same pitch: former enemies who are now spouses, and a relationship that is still figuring itself out.

Uzō’s light novels are published under Dengeki Bunko with illustrations by Kei Hayashi, also romanized as Kewi Hayashi. The first volume arrived in October 2023, and the fourth followed in August 2025.
A manga adaptation by Shiime began in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine in November 2024, with its first collected volume arriving in June 2025. One Peace Books has licensed the manga for English release, with the first volume due March 16, 2027.
