Nagoshi Studio Developer of Gang of Dragon Deletes YouTube Channel Out of Nowhere
Last year, Nagoshi Studio, created by former Sega dev Nagoshi Toshihiro, released the teaser trailer for their new game Gang of Dragon. It’s a Yakuza-Style game taking place in the all too familiar Shinjuku’s Kabukicho; however, this time, Gang of Dragon will star Korean actor Ma Dong-seok, in a brand new original storyline that looks to be part of the Yakuza universe, the famous game series developed by Nagoshi Toshihiro when he was still with Sega.
Only a teaser trailer has been released since the game’s announcement at last year’s Game Awards; however, we know that the game was announced under Nagoshi Studio, the game development company formed by Nagoshi under NetEase, its parent company, after he left Sega. There’s been a lot of hype surrounding Gang of Dragon, especially since Nagoshi has employed Ma Dong-seok, a renowned celebrity known for his roles in Train to Busan and Marvel’s The Eternals, as its lead actor. However, it’s recently been reported that Nagoshi Studio has completely erased its YouTube channel. What happened?
Nagoshi Studio’s YouTube Channel Has Completely Vanished

Yesterday, Reddit users noticed something strange about the Nagoshi Studio official YouTube channel, which had posted all the released content and updates for Gang of Dragon. It doesn’t exist anymore. I double checked myself and found this to be true; if you search Nagoshi Studio on the YouTube search bar, no channel with that name pops up. It seems Nagoshi Toshihiro deleted the YouTube channel for reasons unknown at this time.
Though we don’t know why he deleted the channel, we can speculate that it has to do with the recent financial difficulties the studio has been experiencing after the studio reported that NetEase will pull funding for the game, which Nagoshi Studio reports needs aproximately $44 million to complete development of Gang of Dragon, next month. The studio also reported that they have been experiencing difficulty in finding a new publishing partner, which we can assume is a huge part of why Nagoshi deleted the channel as well.
From early footage of Gang of Dragon, which was revealed at last year’s Game Awards, the game closely resembles one of Nagoshi’s most popular series, Yakuza. And given that Gang of Dragon takes place in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho, we can assume that Gang of Dragon could be set in the Yakuza universe, though that has yet to be confirmed. We can only wait until Nagoshi himself discloses his decision to delete the channel and what this means for his self-made studio and the game altogether.
What Will Happen to Gang of Dragon?
When Gang of Dragon was revealed at last year’s Game Awards, fans were already excited to see a much more gritty and brutal Yakuza-style game. Especially since Ma Dong-seok, who is known for playing in many action roles, was cast as the main protagonist in the game. With the recent bad luck Nagoshi Studio has been experiencing, the fate of Gang of Dragon is up in the air. If you’re curious as to what Gang og Dragon is about, here is the full description of the game on the Nagoshi Studio official website:
GANG OF DRAGON is an action-adventure set in Kabukicho, the iconic nightlife district of Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Shin Ji-seong — portrayed by renowned Asian actor Ma Dong-seok — is a high-ranking member of a Korean crime syndicate based in Kabukicho. As he explores the streets of Shinjuku, Shin becomes entangled in underworld conflicts and forges intense, human connections that push him to confront his own sense of purpose.
Combat unfolds from a third-person perspective, centered on Shin’s overwhelming physical power. Engage enemies through brutal hand-to-hand strikes, precise blade attacks, gunplay, and high-impact vehicle action across the city.
