BAFTA Saluted Titans And Tykes Together in 2026
BAFTA Game Awards handed out trophies to a whole bunch of games this year, and the full winners list reads like a who’s who of blockbuster sequels and surprise indie darlings. Dispatch walked away with Animation and Audio Achievement, while Expedition 33 snagged Best Game and Debut Game in a strong showing that caught plenty of people off guard. Ghost of Yotei grabbed Artistic Achievement and Music, proving that samurai sword fights sound better when backed by a killer soundtrack. Does anyone else find it funny that a game about ghost samurai won an award for something called Artistic Achievement?
BAFTA Jurors Survived ARC Extraction Screaming
BAFTA also showed some love to No Man’s Sky for Evolving Game, which makes perfect sense given that the game launched in disaster and somehow turned into a beloved masterpiece years later. LEGO Party! won Family, because nothing brings a household together like stepping on tiny plastic bricks in virtual form. Ilkka Pannanen took home Fellowship, which sounds like an award for being the nicest person in the room, and honestly, that is a lovely thing to celebrate.
BAFTA awarded Game Beyond Entertainment to Despelote, a title that probably made a lot of people scratch their heads and immediately search for gameplay footage. ARC Raiders scored Multiplayer and also got nominations in Audio Achievement, Best Game, New IP, and Technical Achievement, so the extraction shooter clearly impressed the voters. A person has to wonder how many BAFTA jurors actually survived a full extraction match without screaming at their teammates.
Two Dispatch Actors Won Same Night

Jennifer English won Performer in a Leading Role for her work in Expedition 33, beating out heavy hitters like Aaron Paul and Troy Baker. BAFTA clearly appreciated the emotional depth she brought to the role, because beating Aaron Paul is no small feat. Jeffrey Wright took home Performer in a Supporting Role for Dispatch, which means the ceremony featured two actors from the same game winning acting awards on the same night.
Blue Prince grabbed Game Design, proving that clever puzzles and smart mechanics still get recognition even in a year full of shiny blockbusters. BAFTA also handed Technical Achievement to Ghost of Yotei, which makes sense given how much work goes into making a virtual Japan look that good. Death Stranding 2 picked up Artistic Achievement and several other nominations, but the sequel could not quite match the original’s trophy haul.
BAFTA Voters Loved Dispatch Immensely
The ceremony streamed live on YouTube, so anyone who missed the event can still watch the whole thing and see winners give speeches while holding golden masks. BAFTA always keeps the show moving faster than the American awards, probably because British people have better things to do than watch three hours of montages. Expedition 33 walked away as one of the night’s biggest winners, but Dispatch and Ghost of Yotei also had plenty to celebrate.
BAFTA voters clearly loved Dispatch, giving it two wins in Animation and Audio Achievement, plus a Supporting Actor trophy for Jeffrey Wright. The game must have done something right with its sound design, because beating out ARC Raiders and Death Stranding 2 in Audio Achievement takes serious skill. A person has to ask whether any other award show would give Animation to a game that probably features characters running, jumping, and falling down stairs in the most beautiful way possible.
No Man’s Sky winning Evolving Game feels like the universe finally apologizing for that disastrous 2016 launch. BAFTA recognized Hello Games for sticking with their creation until it became something genuinely special, and that kind of perseverance deserves a golden mask. Fallout 76 also got nominated in that category, which means the jury has a soft spot for games that launched broken and somehow crawled back to respectability.
Golden Masks Held During Thank You Speeches
So that wraps the night of golden masks and surprised winners. BAFTA Game Awards celebrated Dispatch, Expedition 33, Ghost of Yotei, and a whole bunch of other games that made 2026 a fantastic year for players. No Man’s Sky finally got its flowers, ARC Raiders proved extraction shooters can earn critical praise, and Jennifer English gave a winning performance that stuck with voters.
The ceremony stream lives on YouTube for anyone who wants to watch speeches, awkward camera cuts, and the occasional technical glitch. BAFTA did its job, the winners got their trophies, and gamers got a list of titles to check out. Not a bad night’s work.
