The Meta Quest 3 512GB VR headset is 30% off right now, and the best price isn’t on Amazon. The Meta Store’s official eBay shop is selling refurbished units for $439.99 after applying coupon code “COUNTDOWN20,” according to IGN.
That price undercuts anything Amazon has offered during its October Prime Day sale, IGN reported, making this the best deal of the event even though it comes from a different retailer entirely.
What The Meta Quest 3 Deal Includes
The $439.99 price covers a refurbished Meta Quest 3 with 512GB of storage, shipped directly by Meta, according to IGN. The listing also includes an extended two-year AllState warranty, which adds coverage beyond a standard retail purchase.
Because Meta itself reconditions and ships these units, IGN noted the experience isn’t much different from buying a brand new headset. Shoppers do need to enter the “COUNTDOWN20” coupon code at checkout to get the discounted price.
How It Compares With Meta Quest 3 Retail Pricing
The Meta Quest 3’s MSRP jumped from $499.99 to $599.99 in April, IGN reported. That makes the eBay deal a discount off both the current and original list prices. Even stacked against the pre-hike $499.99 MSRP, $439.99 still comes in lower.
IGN’s Eric Song, the outlet’s commerce manager, wrote that the Quest 3’s only real competition is the recently released Steam Frame, “but that’s only if you disregard the cost.” At this price, the Quest 3 runs less than half of what a Steam Frame costs, according to Song, who said he still considers the Quest 3 the best standalone consumer VR headset on the market.
Why The 512GB Model Stands Out
The 512GB Quest 3 shares its Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, Touch Plus controllers and mixed reality passthrough with the cheaper Quest 3S, IGN reported. But the standard Quest 3 pulls ahead with a sharper display, running 2064×2208 resolution compared to the 3S’s 1832×1920, along with a pancake lens design instead of Fresnel lenses and a wider field of view (104°/96° vs 96°/90°) on the 3S.
The 512GB storage tier also gives users far more room for games and apps than the Quest 3S’s 128GB, which matters for anyone planning to install a large library of VR titles.
