Canadian police told streamer Tiagz he could be billed $500 per fire truck responding to swatting calls, even though he was the victim, according to video shared by Dexerto.

An officer told Tiagz in the footage, “There is a bill for $500 for each truck that responds.” Based on that rate, a previous response involving eight trucks would have totaled $4,000, according to Dexerto.

What Police Said About The Tiagz Swatting Calls

The officer told him the fire department was “treating the call as frivolous, so they’re going to send you a bill for all the fire trucks that showed up,” according to the video. When Tiagz asked whether authorities could trace the calls and identify who was making them, the officer said that would be “addressed afterward” but added that “upfront they will be placing a bill on you guys.”

Tiagz pushed back, telling the officer the responsibility should fall on whoever in his stream chat was placing the fake calls. “I understand that, but right now these actions are inciting false alarms,” he said. When he refused to pay, the officer responded, “You’re gonna have to take that to court then.”

The Circumstances Behind The Repeated Calls

Tiagz said the fake emergency calls were tied to his location at an Airbnb and that he was taking protective steps because of it. “So I’m doing this for my safety until I relocate,” he told the officer, according to the footage shared by Dexerto.

Tiagz later addressed the incident on Instagram, posting a screenshot of the police video captioned “Canada is a joke” and “fallen off country,” according to Dexerto.

Why This Isn’t The First Swatting Controversy For Streamers

Tiagz is not the first streamer to publicly question how police handle swatting cases. In April 2025, streamer Jasontheween criticized officers after a search of the FaZe house, saying they left his belongings scattered. In a separate incident, streamer Nick White was swatted while riding in a self-driving Waymo taxi carrying $200,000 worth of Pokemon cards.

What’s Next

Other streamers have faced controversies with law enforcement. It remains unclear whether Tiagz has been formally billed or will challenge any charge in court. No agency has released further details on an investigation into who is making the swatting calls.
