Festival in a Box Oct. 19: $249.99 Mystery Booster Commander

Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026 launches Oct. 19 for $249.99 with Mystery Booster Commander Edition and exclusive Secret Lair cards from Wizards of the Coast.

Mystery Booster Commander Edition

Wizards of the Coast will launch Festival in a Box, an exclusive bundle bundling a Secret Lair drop with the first wide release of Mystery Booster Commander Edition, on Oct. 19 at MagicSecretLair.com, the company announced Monday. The package costs $249.99 and is capped at two per customer while supplies last.

For Commander and Draft fans, this is the easiest way yet to get a full box of Mystery Booster Commander Edition, a format that previously only appeared at MagicCon events in Amsterdam and Indianapolis. The bundle includes an Atlanta-themed Secret Lair drop, giving collectors a reason to grab it even if they never make it to a convention floor.

What’s Inside Festival In A Box: Atlanta 2026

Each box includes one Mystery Booster Commander Edition box and one Secret Gallery: Atlanta Foil Edition Secret Lair drop, per Wizards of the Coast. The Secret Gallery portion features four foil cards illustrated by Atlanta-based artists, timed to the city hosting an upcoming MagicCon.

Buyers also get a set of promo cards, including a playtest card designed and illustrated by Magic head designer Mark Rosewater, plus full-art, textless foil versions of Dance of the Dead and Tana, the Bloodsower, according to the announcement.

Inside The Mystery Booster Commander Edition Box

Each Mystery Booster Commander Edition box holds 24 boosters built for Commander Draft, Wizards of the Coast said. Every booster contains:

  • One rare or mythic rare reprinted commander
  • One new-to-Magic commander, non-foil (95.25% of the time) or traditional foil (4.75%)
  • A common or uncommon Future Sight frame card, non-foil (43.3%) or traditional foil (2%)
  • A rare or mythic rare Future Sight frame card, non-foil (52%) or traditional foil (2.4%)
  • A traditional foil acorn-stamp card appearing less than 1% of the time

Wizards of the Coast noted the percentages may not add up to 100% due to rounding. The company describes the mix as packed with reprints spanning Magic’s history, playtest cards and what it calls “rulebreaker legends,” all hand-picked for Commander Draft play.

Access And Pricing

Festival in a Box is limited to two per customer while supplies last. Wizards of the Coast is offering a notification sign-up for fans who want an alert when the drop opens.

The release follows a rough stretch for Secret Lair sales. Wizards of the Coast is also re-running its Secret Lair x MSCHF: The Zeta Set after a botched September drop left buyers stuck in long queues, Polygon reported. That set returns for a 24-hour order window on Dec. 9, with Secret Lair director Matthew Hodgins promising every order placed in that window will be fulfilled. There is no indication the Atlanta box will use a similar queue system, but fans burned by the Zeta Set launch may want to log in early on Oct. 19 just in case.

What’s Next

Collectors chasing Commander-ready chase cards have another avenue open: Magic’s Reality Fracture set, a “What If?” spin on Jace Beleren’s multiverse, has already produced high-dollar foils, including a Facet Foil Rune-Scarred Demon variant that sold for $850, IGN reported.
